Dragon Ball Daima is set to release on October 11, 2024, and the true fandom of the series cannot help but hold their excitement for the return of the last project with the input of the legendary Akira Toriyama. While the true fandom cannot wait to witness the return of their favorite series, one leaker tried spoiling the fandom through some unconfirmed leaks.

The leaks revealed some risky information about the upcoming series and caused an uproar in the fandom days before the series premiere. Some even claimed these leaks could be the reason behind the upcoming series' hype. However, the true fandom has rejected all such claims, stating that Akira Toriyama's magnum opus doesn't need leakers for its publicity.

Geekdom101 is a YouTuber who covers regular content centered around Akira Toriyama's magnum opus. While the YouTuber's content is not entirely centered around leaks, he often posts leaks about Akira Toriyama's most influential series.

On August 12, 2024, the YouTuber posted a video about Dragon Ball Daima that had some leaks in it. These leaks ranged from revealing a new 'female' antagonist to Vegeta being the spotlight in the upcoming series.

Although his video didn't blow up that much, a part of the fandom branded the YouTuber the main reason behind Daima's popularity. However, the true fandom of the series didn't sit quietly and rejected them by taking to the internet.

Reaction from the fandom

The fandom considered it disrespectful that the leaker was being credited for the legacy of the late Akira Toriyama and Daima's publicity. A fan brought the fandom to the reality that Daima had zero advertisements from its production team, even in the series' home country, Japan.

A fan brought up an interesting argument about the series' previous Hero movie, which had close to zero advertising. Still, it did extremely well in Japan's top 30 most-grossing anime films, proving that Dragon Ball Daima needed no publicity from leakers.

"Saying this about Dragon Ball is straight up disrespectful," a fan said.
"It has had literally zero marketing. One official trailer and 2 teasers. Meanwhile the grocery stores are selling Reeses Puffs with DBZ characters on them. Haven't seen a single ad for Daima anywhere. Friends didn't in Japan either," another fan said.
"Dbs superhero had absolutely 0 marketing aswell and guess f**king what. it even made more money then dbs broly cause it‘s db. the communities own obsession does all the marketing itself," another one claimed.

"Dragon Ball is the Nintendo of Anime. Everyone knows about it." another one said.

Final thoughts

Leaving all of the popularity discussion aside, Geekdom101 is not someone the Dragon Ball fans look up to for various reasons. The YouTuber considers himself the God of the series, and despite the fandom's criticism about not doing leaks for Akira Toriyama's series, he does them anyway.
