While the Boruto manga hasn’t particularly been enjoyable for Kawaki fans, the new installation of the manga has had a brilliant run so far. However, the aforementioned character seems to be far weaker in comparison to his rival and the protagonist of the series.

Given his recent track record, it’s very hard for the character to beat the “fraud” allegations after his brief exchange with Boruto. However, fans believe that he will receive enough screen time to show his true combat potential. The reason why fans are hopeful is due to the fact that he is being hyped up as someone who can be on equal footing as the protagonist of the series.

Since the manga chapters are being released on a monthly basis, the fanbase has come up with a new theory suggesting Kawaki’s massive power-up. They also have reason to believe that he would end up being on a similar level to Naruto’s son.

Boruto fan theory suggests Kawaki’s potential power-up and it involves Thorn Soul Bulbs

The Thorn Soul Bulb seems to be the main topic of discussion since it allows the Shinju to revive their fallen teammates. This is how Hidari was able to join the battlefield despite losing to the protagonist in the fight. Another interesting observation is the sheer number of Shinju entities available at the time of writing. Gaara’s son seems to have been the latest prey as the the Ten-Tailed Beast chakra managed to gain consciousness by sealing him.

It’s clear that the Shinju, despite their strength, are not the main antagonists of the series. They are minor antagonists that the protagonist and his crew must defeat in order to minimize the damages caused in the village. As per the fan theory, fans have reason to believe that Kawaki could potentially defeat the newer Shinju entities and take their Thorn Soul Bulb.

So far, there isn’t much that is known about this object and therefore, it’s hard to craft theories with substance. However, one cannot ignore the importance of the object since it quite literally sustains the Shinju entities.

This means, the Thorn Soul Bulb could potentially contain Shinju code and other important information, which when consumed by a shinobi, could grant them powers. Kawaki, among everyone else, has shown the least amount of progress. In the past three years, most shinobis have shown considerable amount of growth when it comes to combat. Kawaki was a shinobi who was on par with Boruto. However, he barely lasted seconds in that fight since the protagonist managed to overwhelm with little to no difficulty.

The only reason he fled from the battle was due to the resonant effect of the Karma Mode, which Kawaki activated. Therefore, consuming the Thorn Soul Bulb would be the ideal way to get a massive power-up which has been long pending for him. While he might not defeat the likes of Jura and Hidari, he could potentially defeat the likes of Matsuri and Mamushi, who seem to be the weaker ones among the lot.
