Tower of God episode 1 was titled The Last Chance. The episode started with where the season left off in the prequel. Rachel pushed Bam, and he fell to the bottom of the tower, where he met a red-haired girl named Hwaryun. She urged Bam to keep climbing if he wanted answers regarding everything that had happened.
The episode then shifted to the Jahad Kingdom where Yuri Jahad was returning. She visited her sister and asked her to look for Bam's whereabouts, as she didn't believe that he could have died in such a simple test. The episode then showed Ja Wangnan getting ready to take the E-rank exam, which would qualify him to enter the tower again.
Unfortunately, he lost again and returned to his dorm rooms. It was revealed that Wangnan had a big debt, and the loan sharks were frustrated with him running away. So, they made him sign a contract that involved trading Wangnan's body organs for money. As much as he didn't like it, he had to comply with their requests. He again entered the E-rank exam, where Bam was killing anyone who entered the exam.
Surprisingly, after a lousy negotiation, Bam stopped and didn't kill Wangnan. More examinees started to gather until the last one arrived and said to kick out the weak. He then had a showdown with Bam, who showcased his true abilities. Bam tried going after Wangnan, but time was over, and everyone passed.
