Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy season 2 episode 24 picks up after the previous episode with Sofia Bulga’s fight against Makoto and Shiki’s battle with Lancer. The episode focuses on Shiki vs. Lancer, where Lancer sends showers of swords from the sky, but Shiki dodges them.

Hibiki asks Shiki to dispel the weakening mist so her party can join the fight. Shiki refuses, promising to heal Woody if Hibiki can survive until the end. Despite skepticism, Hibiki trusts Shiki, who then dispels the mist. Hibiki and her party prepare to fight the demons as Shiki’s showdown with Lancer begins.

Lancer uses Shadows of Truth, and Shiki counters by revealing information about Lancer and mentioning Luto. Lancer attacks, intending to include Shiki in his arsenal, but Shiki deflects, destroying Lancer’s swords. Shiki transforms his staff into a sword, Ascalon, which he named ’Dragon Slayer,’ and prepares to strike.

Lancer turns surrounding soldiers into swords, but Shiki chops off his fingers as revenge for Makoto. He also effortlessly deflects Lancer’s sword-shard combination attack. Shiki then strikes Lancer with Ascalon and a spell, and as his curse begins taking effect, he chops off Lancer’s left leg.

In Tsukimichi Moonlit Fantasy season 2 episode 24, Lancer becomes desperate and attacks Hibiki and her party, attempting to turn them into swords. Mr. Ciri is hit while saving Chiya. Shiki thanks Ciri, acknowledging that he might have lost if Chiya had become Lancer’s sword.

Lancer says Shiki is the only one besides Sofia to push him this far and tries to turn him into his sword. Shiki refuses as they clash. Lancer is momentarily overjoyed when he hits Shiki, but his joy is short-lived as Shiki, in his true form, cuts him down from behind, revealing it is the only way to defeat him.

Shiki then heals Woody and prepares to leave. When Hibiki asks if he’s really the Devil’s Squire, Shiki reminds her to focus on helping civilians as a hero should. Shiki departs as Hibiki promises to repay him someday. She also speculates that the Devil’s armor is likely connected to her original world, and they’re possibly related to the Kuzunoha Company.

Tsukimichi Moonlit Fantasy season 2 episode 24 focuses on Makoto’s battle with Sofia. She comments on Lancer’s death and explains their bet: if Sofia dies first, she becomes his sword; if he dies first, Sofia gains his remaining life force. Winning the bet gives Sofia a significant power boost.

She reveals an ultimate skill that defeated two greater dragons and opens a dimension called Prison of Swords, teleporting them inside. This space is connected to Lancer’s sword storage and serves as an execution ground.

Makoto quickly decodes the space’s abilities, realizing the swords are Sofia’s lifeline. Dismissing her ability as ordinary, he destroys the swords with his arrows, declaring he is, in fact, an archer. Sofia attacks Makoto, cutting his Mana Matter, but he strengthens it and uses his weapon, Azusa, to swiftly destroy the swords.

Sofia laments not meeting Luto, saying she can’t die yet. Makoto reveals that Luto had been using her as a camera all along and tells her his real name before bidding her farewell.

However, Sofia reveals a secret weapon, a katana, and cuts Makoto’s arrow. Makoto wonders whether Lancer’s secret weapon was another sage, originally from Japan. Sofia’s evolving theory also reminds him of a goal Shiki mentioned, Glont.

Sofia strikes, cutting off Mana Matter’s arms with the katana. Determined to end the fight quickly, Makoto uses his ultimate arrows and a mana ladder to strike Sofia from higher ground.

In the concluding scenes of Tsukimichi Moonlit Fantasy season 2 episode 24, Makoto defeats Sofia and breaks her dimension. He moves to reclaim Fort Stellar, which Rona had already abandoned. Using the mana ladder, he carefully shoots an arrow at Fort Stellar, completing the goddess’ request as the arrow explodes in the distance.

The episode ends with Makoto reuniting with Shiki. Heading home, they catch up on their current situation. Shiki mentions that he thinks Hibiki knows Makoto, and Makoto confirms knowing her, stating they’ll discuss it after returning.
