Anime lovers in Japan can officially watch the broadcast of Übel Blatt episode 1 on the Tokyo MX channel. Besides Tokyo MX, the episode will air on other channels like BS Nippon TV, AT-X, and Kansai TV later.
On the other hand, Amazon Prime Video will exclusively stream the episode worldwide one hour after its broadcast on the Japanese channels (11:30 am EST). Interested fans can watch the episode with English subs on Prime Video. Unfortunately, Crunchyroll and other streaming services haven't yet mentioned whether they will stream the series.
What to expect in Übel Blatt episode 1?
According to the anime's official website, Übel Blatt episode 1 is titled Durchbruch (Breakthrough). The episode will explore the gritty setting and set up the lore surrounding the series. The official synopsis shared on the anime's site reveals how in the year 3972 of the Oracel Calendar, 14 knights were handed over the Sacred Spear.
They were given the task of sealing the Dark Land, known as Vishtehi. One of the knights, named Asheritt, was betrayed by his trusted companion and mercilessly killed in the Forest of Death during his journey. As such, the locals and the officials branded him as a traitor.
After 20 years, Asheri is resurrected as Koinzell from the brink of his death. Köinzell travels to the border of the Lierde Felem town with an intense desire for revenge against his enemy, who is praised as one of the Seven Heroes. Köinzell begins his journey with the stowaway girls, Peepi, Weid, and Altea, and uses the border wall, Thousand Stone Spears to infiltrate the underground monastery.
As such, Übel Blatt episode 1 will showcase the beginning of Köinzell's journey, as he enters the monastery, the abode of the corrupted monks who use their status and powers to their advantage. It remains to be seen how Köinzell reacts to the monks.
