"Wants to be Kubo so bad" ~ Jujutsu Kaisen's latest Gojo art has Bleach fans roasting Gege Akutami

With the results of Jujutsu Kaisen's 4th Popularity Poll coming out, manga creator Gege Akutami released new illustrations of the three most popular characters on the poll, i.e., Satoru Gojo, Yuji Itadori, and Megumi Fushiguro. The three characters were seen in casual attire, something not so commonly drawn by Gege Akutami but by Bleach manga creator Tite Kubo.

As one could expect, Bleach fans started making comparisons between the two creator's artwork. Needless to say, many fans did not like how Satoru Gojo turned out in the new illustrations and roasted Gege Akutami for failing to replicate Tite Kubo's artworks.

Why did Bleach fans roast Jujutsu Kaisen creator Gege Akutami?

As animanga fans would know, Bleach's manga creator Tite Kubo is pretty well-known for drawing his characters in casual attires for promotional materials.

This has also become very evident ever since Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War anime began as the manga creator has been posting illustrations of his characters during the course of his adaptation. These illustrations are not only posted on X but also on his blog website called Klub Outside.

Thus, fans often associated such artworks with Tite Kubo. Hence, when Gege Akutami released his illustrations of Satoru Gojo, Yuji Itadori, and Megumi Fushiguro in casual outfits and they didn't look as good as the ones created by Tite Kubo, fans began roasting Gege Akutami. Surprisingly, most comments were aimed at the Satoru Gojo illustration.

How fans reacted to the Gege Akutami's new illustrations

Gege Akutami's latest artwork was faced with a lot of criticism as one fan pointed out how the manga creator seemingly wanted to create illustrations like Tite Kubo but had failed miserably.

"You're not Tite Kubo, let it go Gege," another fan said.

"leave the drip to kubo man drop the pen gege," another added.

"Unfortunately Gege was not able to copy Kubo's fashion design skills," another said.

But that fan wasn't alone as many other fans joined them in asking Gege Akutami not to try and replicate Tite Kubo's work as he was nowhere close to the "Big Three" manga creator. The fans made it very clear that Gege Akutami did not have the same fashion design skills as possessed by Tite Kubo.

Fans were mainly concerned about how Satoru Gojo looked in the new Jujutsu Kaisen illustrations. Besides the fact that they could not comprehend what Gojo was wearing in his illustration, fans also did not like how his hair was parted on the side of his head.

"gege is NOT kubo bro what is he wearing... WHY DOES HIS HAIR PART ON THE SIDE OF HIS HEAD... WHY HIS HAIR LOOK LIKE AN ALBINO ONION?," other fan said.

"This is the best one. Gege give us art like Kubo does for Bleach," another fan expressed.

Nevertheless, some fans appreciated Gege Akutami's drawings, especially the illustration for Yuji Itadori. With that, they also asked Gege Akutami to give them more casual outfit artworks like Bleach.
