Crunchyroll confirmed this with the release of their full Winter 2025 schedule and lineup in December 2024. However, the platform has yet to announce any alternate language dubs for the series, as of this article’s writing.

Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf! episode 1 began with a focus on protagonist Kazuhiro Kitase. He was introduced as an average salaryman who prioritized going home on time each day over working hard for a promotion and socializing. This was because sleep was his favorite hobby, as evidenced when he got into bed at 7:30 PM.

However, he explained that his dreams always took him to a fantasy world, which he loved ever since he was a kid. In this world, he was friends with Mariabelle, an elven girl whom he called Marie for short.

In a recent dream, Kazuhiro and Marie explored a dungeon together, eventually coming across the dungeon boss, an Arkdragon. As the two debated what their plan would be, the door they entered from was shut, with the dragon waking up shortly thereafter. Out of options, they simply embraced each other as the dragon’s fire breath hit them, with Kazuhiro waking up in reality.

However, Kazuhiro woke up with a naked Marie in bed with him and she also had no idea how she got here. After some discussion, Kazuhiro decided to take the day off in order to shop for clothes for Marie, and show her around Japan in an attempt to accustom her to life on Earth.

The episode ended with Marie excitedly exploring Japan, and the two theorizing that Marie may be able to return to her world if she'd go to sleep in this one.

What to expect from Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf! episode 2 (speculative)?

Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf! episode 2 should open up with a continued focus on Kazuhiro and Marie seeing their day of exploration around Japan wind down. Upon returning home, they’ll likely go to sleep fairly soon after in an attempt to try and return Marie to her original world.

However, it’s likely that Kazuhiro’s dreams will bring only him to the world, forcing him to quickly die somehow in his dreams in order to return to reality and see if Marie is still there. She will perhaps be there and this should lead to another conversation between them about their long term plans—to familiarize Marie with Japan, and try to get her home.
