Healing is a rare feat in Jujutsu Kaisen. Considering the kind of damage characters of the series are capable of, one would expect healing to be comparatively common. But it being a complex technique makes it all the more valuable.

Alongside Shoko Ieiri, the likes of Gojo Satoru, Ryomen Sukuna, Kenjaku, Hiromi Higuruma, etc. can use the Reverse Cursed Technique (RCT). However, there is one sorcerer who can heal, in some sense, without having to use RCT. This character is Arata Nitta, whose power or Jujutsu is Pain Killer.

He made his debut in Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 when Nobara Kugisaki suffered a horrible fate. Even so, his appearance sparked curiosity in the fandom regarding his identity and ability.

Arata Nitta is one of Jujutsu Kaisen's more unique characters. A non-combat type, Arata's main job is to remain behind the frontline and focus on treating the injured. His Innate Technique is called Pain Killer. According to what is known, it allows Arata to stop existing injuries from getting any worse.

Not to be mistaken, he cannot heal wounds. But with Pain Killer, as the name suggests, he can stop bleeding and reduce the pain for anyone he applies it to. Importantly, any injuries sustained after the technique has been applied are unaffected.

Other than that, despite lacking Arata the experience and combat ability, is useful on missions due to his technique. Moreover, the blonde possesses knowledge of basic first aid. As mentioned, considering the rarity of healing techniques, his value as an asset goes up significantly.

Who is Arata Nitta?

As for this character's identity, Arata Nitta features in a supporting role in Gege Akutami's series. He is a first-year student at Kyoto Jujutsu High. He is also the younger brother of Akari Nitta, auxiliary manager at Tokyo Jujutsu High. He is typically seen clad in black trousers, a tailcoat, a gray vest, and white gloves. All in all, his outfit resembles that of an English butler.

With Todo Aoi as a comparison, Arata is kind and timid. In dangerous situations, he is understandably nervous but keeps his cool and exhibits bravery and proactiveness.

When did Arata Nitta use Pain Killer

Arata Nitta has made appearances in major arcs of the series. Firstly, during the Shibuya Arc, Arata arrived at the scene with Todo when Nobara and Yuji were facing Mahito. Following what Mahito did to the former, Arata did his best to treat her despite her gruesome and near hopeless state. He knew that Nobara likely might not make it, but reassured Yuji that there was a slim possibility.

This shows his quick reading of the situation - Yuji had just had his spirit broken and was in tears. Through this reassurance, he hoped to restore whatever he could of his resolve with a little hope. He did not want to give Yuji false hopes but made sure that he knew that Nobara's survival chances weren't zero.

Secondly, he makes a brief appearance during the ongoing Shinjuku Showdown Arc. He is seen attending the meeting where Team Jujutsu High strategize before the Gojo vs Sukuna fight. Later, he is seen discussing his technique with Yuji, Shoko and Rin Amai. Lastly, Nitta and Rin aided in treating Yuta Okkotsu alongside Shoko by using his CT to prevent and stop Yuta's injuries from worsening.
