My Hero Academia fans often want to know what Eri's power is, since that proves to be a major plot point throughout the series. It is because of her Quirk that the vast majority of the Overhaul arc takes place, and is also key during the endgame of the manga, thanks to All For One's usage of this ability.

Eri's power is Rewind, which allows her to return a physical body to a previous state, which is used in different ways throughout My Hero Academia. This ability can even go as far as rewinding a person to state previous to their birth and rewind to a point prior to suffering biological changes, as evidenced by the effects it had on Mirio Togata.

As mentioned earlier, Eri's power is Rewind, which is a Quirk that focuses on returning a living body to a previous state. This depends greatly on the user's ability since it has been shown in the story that Eri, because of her young age, doesn't have mastery of her own powers and can go overboard when using them.

The source of her Quirk appears in the horn on her forehead, and said horn can grow larger or smaller depending on the intensity of her powers. Shota Aizawa also mentions when training that she can only use it on humans, thus meaning that she can only train with people— and that makes the mastery of this Quirk even more dangerous. This power also needs time before being usable again.

There have been times when Eri's horn has been removed, such as during the final war arc of the series when she handed it to Aizawa so he could use it to restore Izuku "Deku" Midoriya's arms. As per the pages shown in the epilogue of the manga, Eri eventually grew a new horn as she got older, which means that losing it is not permanent.

How Eri's Quirk is used in-series, explained

One reason why a lot of people watching or reading My Hero Academia want to know what is Eri's power is because how important this Quirk ends up being in a couple of arcs.

Overhaul uses Eri's ability to create bullets that can remove a person's Quirk, as evidenced when he shot one at Mirio Togata, and Deku also benefitted from the Rewind ability to keep himself at physical peak to defeat the aforementioned villain in that arc.

It is also worth pointing out that the main villain of the series, All For One, used a bit of Eri's DNA and injected it into himself to have Rewind, which he used during the final war arc to recover his youth and go back to his physical prime. However, since he had no control over this ability, every time he suffered heavy damage, he would get younger, until he became a baby when fighting Katsuki Bakugo.

Eri herself also learns to use this Quirk throughout the series since she is trained by Shota Aizawa, thus allowing her to execute her power to help Mirio recover his Quirk and for Deku to get his arms healed during the final battle.

Final thoughts

The importance of what Eri's power is in My Hero Academia is pivotal since it defines a lot of major plot points in the series and becomes a major asset to both heroes and villains. It also shows how some of the most powerful Quirks can be in the most innocent.
