Presently, My Hero Academia has concluded after 430 fabulous chapters with the youngsters of Class 1-A now Pro Heroes. Among all this, many have pondered on Eri's whereabouts. Post the 8-year time skip, Eri is part of the music club and continues to live at U.A. a regular life which she thoroughly deserves.
Who is Eri in My Hero Academia?
Eri is the granddaughter of the boss of Shie Hassaikai in My Hero Academia. At a young age, she accidentally used her newly manifested Quirk, Rewind, on her father, and it caused him to vanish. Her Quirk was dissimilar to either of her parents' Quirks, causing her mother to believe that she was cursed and thus giving the girl up to her father.
Her grandfather tasked his protégé, Kai Chisaki, to test and identify her Quirk as they seemingly possessed similar abilities. But Kai found Eri's Quirk to be Rewind and not Vanish. Having noted her potential, Kai expressed his desire for a Shie Hassaikai comeback but was opposed to using Eri in that way. So, using Overhaul, Kai incapacitated his boss to prevent his interference.
After this, Kai took over Shie Hassaikai and began to experiment on Eri to weaponize her Quirk. Through countless experiments, he manufactured bullets that injected targets with Eri's blood, thus taking away their Quirks. The girl's repeated attempts at escape and resistance were fruitless until she eventually accepted her fate. However, Deku and Lemillion rescued her and gave her a shot at life once more.
My Hero Academia: Eri's status at the end
With major screen time during the Shie Hassakai Arc, Eri made appearances in the other subsequent arcs and played an important role in the Final War Arc. She insisted that Ectoplasm cut off her horn and later gave it to Shota Aizawa. He used it on Deku, rewinding with the two to three minutes' worth of energy and thus restoring his destroyed arms.
She did such a thing because she couldn't bear to watch Deku take on a terrifying Tomura Shigaraki. She wanted to help in any way she could, as she remembered herself telling Deku her dream, and how he was delighted and told her that he would work extra hard for it.
As of My Hero Academia chapter 430, Eri is now 15 years of age and continues life at U.A. High. She loves music, music being the first thing that made her smile and has taken Kyoka Jiro as her mentor for singing.
Eri's Quirk in My Hero Academia
Eri's Quirk, Rewind, enables her to reverse a living body back to a previous state. This means she can make her target physically younger, heal injuries, and undo bodily modifications. As evident from the incident during her childhood, through her use of the newly manifesting Quirk, she rewound her father's body to a point before he existed, erasing him completely.
The source of Rewind's power is located in the horn on her head, with the size of it dictating the strength of her power. Neito Monoma notes that it is an accumulation-type Quirk, implying that the power it emits needs to build up over time before becoming usable.
Kai Chisaki focused on Eri's blood through her mutation, her blood capable of attacking a target's Quirk and stopping its activation by reversing its evolution before the point of manifestation. This is what powered Kai's Quirk-Destroying Drug. Finally, Aizawa concluded that Rewind could even restore their Quirks, but it was effective only on living entities, not inanimate objects.
