In the distant future, an unnatural calamity will happen to human civilization, changing human physiology and making humans combust when a fire is near them. Because of that, millions of humans died, but then a group of people formed the Fire Hunters, who started to fight against the Fire Fiends. The Fire Hunter is a fantasy anime series with adventure, mystery, and supernatural powers.
The anime series is an adaptation of Rieko Hinata's novel The Firecatcher Lord, illustrated by Akihiro Yamada. Holp Shuppan published the novel on December 20, 2018, and the last of four volumes on September 3, 2020.
Plot of Fire Hunter
The story revolves around Touko, the young 11-year-old girl who is the protagonist of the series, who lives in a remote village and one day is saved by a Fire Hunter when Fire Fiends attack her. However, while fighting the demonic beast from the fire, the Fire Hunter was able to kill him alongside his dog Kanata but got several injured, which caused his death. His last word to Touko was his dog's name, Kanata.
The village assigns Touko the task of carrying the Fire Hunter’s belongings to the capital, to his home. She feels responsible for the Fire Hunter's death and decides to take his dog as well to fulfill her duty. The story follows her journey, during which she experiences many exciting incidents. Along the way, she met other fire hunters and encountered some Fire Fiends and Lords.
