Boruto: Two Blue Vortex has been progressing at a steady rate and fans are eager to receive new content. The recent chapter packed a ton of action and focused completely on the likes of Jura and Himawari. However, there is another event that seems to have grabbed readers' attention.
The event in question was the interaction that took place between Kawaki and Boruto. The latter ran into Kawaki while trying to head to Konohagakure to intercept the Shinju, who were threatening the shinobis there.
That interaction raised an important question - what is Karma Resonance? To understand this, it is essential to review the latest chapter and understand potential reasons for the Karma Resonance.
What is Karma Resonance in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex?
In the latest chapter, Boruto and Kawaki had a brief exchange wherein the former emerged victorious. When Kawaki activated his Karma Mode, Boruto's Karma Mode also got activated, forcing him to flee since he didn't seem to have control.
Resonance, in this case, is a concept where an entity imitates a similar outcome or event owing to a neighboring trigger event. As such, Karma Resonance means that when one person activates their Karma, a neighboring shinobi who had been taken over by an Otsutsuki has their Karma Mode activated as well.
In the anime, both Amado and Isshiki assumed that it was this phenomenon that allowed their Karma Mode to develop at an alarming rate. This is the only explanation that the manga has given fans so far. The series has yet to explain why it happens.
That being said, there are a couple of theories that could potentially explain the cause of the Karma Mode Resonance.
However, it is imperative to understand the workings of Karma Mode. This is a seal that essentially allows an Otsutsuki to encode their biological data into a vessel, serving as a backup. As the Karma Mode develops, the Otsutsuki starts overwriting its data into the vessel, ultimately making the vessel a full-fledged Otsutsuki eventually. This is an interesting mechanism and its working could potentially give fans some clues.
One reason for Karma Resonance could be for safety. It's clear that Karma Mode is designed to ensure that the Otsutsuki can continue living. The Karma Mode Resonance ensures that every neighboring vessel gets this mode activated. This leads to the Karma Mode developing more quickly. When the development rate improves, it allows for the Otsutsuki to completely take over the vessel a lot quicker without the Resonance effect.
Another explanation could be related to certain properties of the clan. Since this is a clan filled with some of the most evolved beings, there is a possibility that all Otsutsukis are connected. If they're all connected, there could be an inherent resonant effect that results in the resonating Karma Mode as well.
These are some of the possible reasons for the prevalence of the Karma Mode Resonance.
