With the release of Black Clover chapter 373, the manga series finally saw an end to the storyline surrounding the Silva siblings as all four of them combined their efforts to take down their Paladin-turned-mother, Acier Silva.

During these efforts, Noelle teamed up with Solid and Nebra to unleash all her magic alongside Leviathan's power in a single spell. As for Nozel Silva, he bought his younger siblings some time by solely focusing on defending them.

Hence, he unleashed his new magic spell - Mercury Magic: Silver Guardian. So, what is Nozel Silva's new magic spell?

Black Clover: What is Nozel Silva's Mercury Magic: Silver Guardian spell?

As seen in Black Clover chapter 373, Mercury Magic: Silver Guardian is one of Nozel Silva's close-range defensive Mercury Magic spells. The spell sees the user concentrate their mercury into a defensive coating over their entire body.

While the mercury coating is solid enough to block repeated strikes from an opponent that is at least Paladin-level strong, it can also crack when broken. Despite that, the magic spell is flexible enough not to hinder the user's movements.

Nozel Silva uses this magic spell during the fight against his mother, Acier Silva, after realizing that only his younger sister Noelle's extraordinary latent magic could defeat their mother. Hence, he wanted her to charge up an attack using all of her mana and Leviathan's power alongside her siblings Solid and Nebra.

As for him, he decided to focus purely on defending and protecting his siblings to buy enough time for Noelle to charge up the attack. Fortunately, with this magic spell, Nozel succeeded at his task of keeping his mother busy.

However, there was a huge flaw in the magic spell. As mercury is poisonous in nature for human beings, the Mercury Magic: Silver Guardian spell effectively harmed the user, causing Nozel extreme pain and passive damage as long as he kept the spell activated.

That said, after the fight ended, Nozel Silva could be seen lying down on a rooftop with his siblings surrounding him. He had a major wound on his left side that he was dealt at the end of his fight against his mother and was left in extreme pain, also caused by his magic spell. Hence, it is understandable why he looked weak in the manga.

However, the manga chapter also saw black lines drawn over and under Nozel's eyes. While it is yet to be confirmed, there is a chance that Nozel is still under the effects of his poisonous mercury magic spell and may need some recovery magic before his condition turns worse.
