Blue Lock has given several unique characters with distinct abilities and egos. Each one is different from the other and develops in intriguing ways as the story progresses. Protagonist Isagi Yoichi had been front and center for most of the series, that is until he arrived at Bastard Munchen.
There, he ran into Michael Kaiser, the ace of the German side. If Rin Itoshi was thought to be a great player, Kaiser proved that he was on a whole other level. Thus Isagi and Kaiser butted heads to take control of Bastard Munchen, with the latter establishing his superiority quite often until the most recent chapters.
Here's everything Michael Kaiser and him in the Neo Egoist League.
Who is Michael Kaiser in Blue Lock? Explained
Michael Kaiser is a German prodigy U-20 forward. As stated, he wears the colours of Bastard Munchen as he plays in the Neo-Egoist League under Noel Noa's tutelage. He stands as the team's ace and main striker. Kaiser has been labelled a genius and his abilities have allowed him to break into the New Generation World XI.
Kaiser comes from a broken family. His father was a small-time director who fell into poverty after his wife left him following her big break as an actress. Depressed and shattered, he took out his frustrations on his son. He would physically assault Kaiser, compel him to steal and never once call him by his name.
Kaiser's only relief was a worn-out football he had found, viewing it as a metaphor for himself. To make his life more miserable, Kaiser’s acquaintances named him as an accomplice in a robbery, and he was arrested immediately when the police found his little savings.
The boy viewed this merely as a setback and sought to regain the money somehow. However, when his drunk father attempted to destroy his football, Kaiser flipped and went crazy, attacking his father and the police. If not for PIFA agent Ray Dark's intervention, Kaiser would have remained behind bars.
Kaiser's abilities, explained
Michael Kaiser has already established himself as one of the best in the Neo Egoist League. As a striker, he has proven to be beyond deadly, able to create goals and chances from literally nothing. He has been given the archetype of a "Clinical Finisher" - he has a sharp eye for goal, requiring few chances to score.
This is combined with his football genius, which is regarded highly in the professional world. He possesses Metavision (evolved vision that allows the user to see everything on the pitch through continuous information gathering and processing) and Predator Eye (narrows his vision to find the shortest goal route).
As seen in the manga, his famed Kaiser Impact and its variations (Beinschuss, Lightning Strike, Magnus) have demonstrated effectiveness. But that's not all, even off the ball, Kaiser is a menace. Marked by defenders or not, he intelligently moves into spaces where he can receive or cut off passes to increase his chances of scoring.
How Kaiser's ability helps him in Blue Lock's Neo Egoist League
As the Blue Lock players awaken abilities such as Metavision and Predator Eye, Kaiser seeks to perfect and go beyond them. True to his label of a Prodigy, he has displayed time and again why he is Bastard Munchen's ace. Moreover, his Ego, fueled by his tragic beginnings, makes it tough to challenge his position.
Up until recently, with Alexis Ness by his side, Kaiser used the tools in his arsenal to score goals and climb up the ladder. But that style of play was broken down when Isagi entered and managed to attract the other Bastard Munchen players to his side. This forced Kaiser to abandon his selfish methods and rely on others.
Currently, with his goal against PxG, he stands as the third-highest goalscorer, with 5 goals to his name, behind Shoei Barou and Rin Itoshi. His explosive evolution in the most recent chapter is a testament to the player's genius.
