When does Demon Slayer reveal Zenitsu's complete backstory? Explained

Zenitsu Agatsuma from the Demon Slayer series wasn't the most popular character in the anime and manga series when he was first introduced. He was obnoxious, loud, and constantly cowered behind weaker people when faced with a demon. These aren't qualities that are seen in a demon hunter. However, he redeemed himself after his first fight against the Tongue Demon.

His popularity increased substantially after that fight and the fanbase slowly started to pay attention to his feats in the series. One thing that this series has given us is a range of backstories, each giving depth to these characters.

The question that most fans have is — when will Zenitsu's complete backstory be revealed in the anime? Most of Zenitsu's backstory has already been revealed. But there are a few elements that will be covered during the Infinity Castle arc of the story.

Demon Slayer: Zenitsu's complete backstory in the animanga series

Zenitsu Agatsuma is a demon hunter who fights in a unique way. He loses consciousness out of fear and lets his instincts take over. Furthermore, he is, on paper, a far from ideal combatant. This is because Zenitsu only knows one form — the Thunder Breathing. This might restrict him as a fighter but he managed to polish the first form to such an extent that no one else could match his speed. His backstory was revealed in Mount Natagumo arc of the story.

Zenitsu made bad decisions when he was young and incurred a massive debt. He was fooled by a woman, and it was Jigoro who repaid the debt and took him under his wings. He forced Zenitsu to train and the latter suffered every day, constantly complaining and crying.

But he continued training, even when his master wasn't supervising the training session. He only managed to learn the first form of the Thunder Breathing Technique but perfected this until he could beat tough demons and ended up surpassing his limits.

The only part of the backstory that wasn't revealed was his relationship with Kaigaku. He was another member of the dojo who trained under Jigoro. Zenitsu and Kaigaku were co-inheritors of Jigoro's dojo.

However, Kaigaku mastered all forms except the first one. He also managed to become a demon when he lost a battle to Kokushibo. Zenitsu, who grew up training with Kaigaku would eventually face him once again, except this time his former comrade is a demon.

His relationship with Kaigaku will be revealed in the Infinity Castle arc of the Demon Slayer series. It will be interesting to see fans react to the relationship dynamics between these two characters.

Another thing that fans can look forward to is the fight that will take place between Zenitsu and Kaigaku. This will be one of the most exciting fights in the arc since Kaigaku will become an Upper Moon demon at that stage.
