Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 264 has recently been leaked and it focuses on Yuji Itadori, Aoi Todo, and Hana Kurusu fighting Ryomen Sukuna. However, fans are becoming impatient regarding the character of Megumi Fushiguro.

As most of the manga fans know, Sukuna has taken over Megumi's body and Yuji has been trying to separate them to rescue his friend. But Fushiguro has not made an appearance in the story since chapter 251.

The Jujutsu Kaisen manga has already made it clear in chapter 251 that Megumi Fushiguro has given up and no longer has the will to live. Fans would like an update on his current state, especially after Yuji's recent attempts to remove Sukuna from his body.

There is a strong possibility that author Gege Akutami is saving the character's return for a specific moment, but it is difficult to theorize at the moment.

Jujutsu Kaisen fans would like an update regarding Megumi Fushiguro's current state

While the bulk of chapter 264 is centered around Yuji Itadori, Hana Kurusu, and Aoi Todo fighting Ryomen Sukuna, fans are beginning to feel frustrated regarding the character of Megumi Fushiguro and how author Gege Akutami has handled him recently. Chapter 251 was the last time readers got to know that Megumi seemingly gave up on life when Yuji tried to reach out to him.

From the moment that Sukuna took over Megumi's body, fans haven't gotten a lot of content regarding his whereabouts and whether he has been fighting back or not. It does make sense that Sukuna pulled several tactics to break Fushiguro's spirit but readers would like some signs that the character is still alive and kicking or has been completely nullified.

There is also an argument to be made that author Gege Akutami is saving the character of Fushiguro for a specific moment in the series, especially because Yuji's goal is to save him and separate him from Sukuna. However, it is hard to speculate that at the moment.

Reactions online

The treatment Megumi Fushiguro has received in the Shinjuku arc in Jujutsu Kaisen has been divisive to several people. Some fans claim that Megumi giving up on life is an expected and logical character progression, while others think it has cemented his place as one of the most disappointing individuals in the story. Thus, it shows how Akutami has crafted a controversial path for him.

Regardless of people's stance on the matter, Megumi has been a major character in the series, with several of his plot points and arc connected to important players, such as Satoru Gojo and Toji Fushiguro. Moreover, there is an expectation of sorts about what Akutami will do with this character and conclude his arc.

"I got a cigarette in one hand and a gun in the other. I can’t anymore where’s my son," a person said.
"He’s meeting Yuji at the train station. Just running late," another person said.
"Please leave Megumi alone I don’t want the merger," someone else said.

The discussion of how Megumi's character arc should end is something most Jujutsu Kaisen fans have been debating on for quite some time. Some think that Yuji Itadori is going to save him, and others believe he is going to die. There is a group who claims that he is going to become the final villain, uniting with the merger after Sukuna is defeated.

"Author forgot abt him im cry," someone said.
"-Domain has a sure hit effect -Yuji CT involves soul splitting -it’s Yujikuna in the domain not Megumikuna," another person said.

There is no certainty of what will happen to Megumi Fushiguro in the coming chapters but his fate is strictly connected to what happens to Ryomen Sukuna.
