Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood has two main characters, Edward Elric and Alphonse Elric. Both are protagonists of the anime series, but the elder brother, Edward, has more screen time than Alphonse.

The story of the Fullmetal Alchemist follows both Elric brothers, who failed to restore their dead mother through alchemy. The younger brother (Alphonse Elric) loses his whole body, while the elder brother (Edward Elric) loses his left leg and right arm. The elder brother then bound his younger brother's soul to a suit of armor. To get Alphonse's body back, they both searched for the Philosopher’s Stone, which is said to be used to get his body.

Edward Elric is the main protagonist in the Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood anime series and the youngest State Alchemist in history at the age of just 12. At a very young age, his father, Van Hohenheim, left the family to go on to research on his own. Edward lost his left leg while resurrecting his dead mother by alchemy, which he failed. He also lost his brother, but then he exchanged his right arm to get his brother’s soul back, which he bound to a suit of armor.

Later, he went on a journey with his brother to find the Philosopher's Stone to bring back his brother's body and his lost body parts. Edward is 149 cm (4”11) inches tall, which is short in terms of males, which is why most people who meet him call him short, which makes him angry all the time. However, still, he is still strong physically and also can use alchemy without a transmutation circle, which every alchemist needs to perform any alchemy. He is among the strongest alchemists in the series and the youngest.

Vic Mignogna is the English voice actor of Edward Elric, and Romi Park is the Japanese voice actor of him. Both of the voice artists are very famous in the anime world and have given their voices to characters in anime series like Pokemon, Dragon Ball Super, and many more.

Alphonse Elric is Edward's younger brother, also known as Al and the second protagonist of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. He loses his whole body while performing alchemy to bring back his dead mother, but Edward binds his brother’s soul in a suit of armor to keep it alive. Later, they go on to look for the Philosopher's Stone so they can bring back his body.
