Who is Kenjaku in Jujutsu Kaisen?

Last Modified Mar 27, 2024 06:10 GMT

Kenjaku is one of the main antagonists (villains) in a popular anime and manga series, Jujutsu Kaisen, which recently won many awards in the 2024 Crunchyroll Anime Awards show.

Kenjaku was an ancient curse user who lived endlessly using his innate technique, which allowed him to transplant his brain to another body and then control the brain of that body to do whatever he wanted. He aimed to merge the Tengen body with other people to see what came out because he always wanted to do experiments, which he did in the past with Yuji Itadori’s mother, Kaori Itadori. He did this to mate with partner Jin Itadori to give birth to Yuji, who is a hybrid human that has super strength and cursed energy but looks like a normal human.

On how many characters did Kenjaku use his Innate Technique in the past?

Over the past 400 years, Kenjaku has used his Innate Technique on many people, but here is a list of some very important characters on whom he has used it in his past.

In the past, Kenjaku used his innate technique to control Noritoshi Kamo, who was known as one of the most famous sorcerers in the history of Jujutsu Kaisen during the Meiji Era, which occurred 150+ years ago, the time Yuji and other present Jujutsu Kiasen characters were born.

Once, a woman who had a special genetic composition gave birth to a half-human and half-curse child. She went to a temple that was run by Noritoshi, who, after seeing her, made her prisoner and then forcefully experimented on her to create more half-human and half-cursed children. That resulted in Death Paintings.

Kenjaku also used his innate technique on Kaori, who was Yuji’s mother, and after controlling her body, he used her to mate with Jin Itadori, who gave birth to Yuji, but it is still not known when Kenjaku left her body.

The final body that Kenjaku controlled was Geto’s. With this body, he could use idle transfiguration, which started the culling game and altered many people's bodies inside the barrier created by the technique. He is also able to kill Tengen and give his power to Sukuna, who wants to destroy all human realms to act as a king of the world.

Abilities of Kenjaku in Jujutsu Kaisen

Kenjaku was one of the strongest characters in the Jujutsu Kaisen anime series. His knowledge was beyond that of any other character in the series because he lived for more than 400 years.

Innate Technique: This is Kenjaku's original technique through which he can control anyone’s body, and with the help of that, he can also perform any soccer body techniques just like he did with Geto Surugu and Noritoshi Kamo.

Hand-to-Hand Combat: Kenjaku is also one of the strongest Hand-to-hand fighters, and he can beat anyone as he did, defeating Choso and Yuki, who are special-grade soccer players.

Kenjaku’s battle with Choso and Yuki Tsukumo: When Kenjaku came to kill Tengen, Yuki and Choso tried to protect him, but Kenjaku was able to defeat both of them even after Yuki sacrificed herself to kill him when she turned in a black hole. However, she is able to save Choso and tells him to live on. After that, Kenjaku seizes Tengen and completes the pre-pre for the merger.

Kenjaku battle with Yuta and Takaba: When Kenjaku fought with Takaba, he did not have an intense fight because Takaba’s technique was whatever he found funny that came in reality. This gave Yuta a chance to hide his cursed technique and he was able to kill Kenjaku, but during that time Kenjaku was able to kill Takaba. Still, there is no proof that his death was due to hits by Kenjaku. Takaba might have thought that he would die after a successful comedy fight with Kenjaku, which, in reality, happened.
