The Demon Slayer series just released its fourth installment, and it's off to a great start. Fans were skeptical about this season since the previous one didn't meet the fanbase's expectations. Naturally, viewers were cautiously optimistic, but Ufotable instilled some confidence in them with many anime-original scenes.

The latest episode gave Tengen Uzui the spotlight, and viewers were happy to see the former Sound Hashira return to the series. Tanjiro and Uzui's interactions were quite entertaining to watch. However, there was one particular element that caught the viewers' attention.

There was the presence of a demon. The inscription on the eye showed that it was an Upper Moon 4 demon, meaning it was Hantengu's latest replacement. However, fans seem to have one question: who is the new Upper Moon 4 demon in Demon Slayer? The new Upper Moon 4 Demon is Nakime.

Nakime has made an appearance in the anime during the earlier seasons. However, the screen time she received was relatively scarce, and therefore, it's quite easy for viewers to forget about her existence. She is the demon who plays the Biwa, a traditional Japanese string instrument that controls the Infinity Castle. This is a building that is extremely intricate in its design, and she has the ability to change and alter the establishment's orientation and dimensions.

Kibitsuji Muzan often uses this establishment to conduct his meetings with the Lower and Upper Moon Demons. After Tengen Uzui and Tanjiro killed Daki and Gyutaro, the Upper Moon Demons convened in this building. Nakime is a powerful demon with support abilities. Unlike most demons, her ability to fight someone head-on isn't the best.

However, she can assist the remaining demons by constantly altering the orientation of the rooms. She can also instantly transport the demons to various points in the building. In the fourth season's first episode, Nakime's ability allows her to let the demon escape from Sanemi and Obanai by making them exit the building.

Nakime's eye also has the ability to crawl on its own and perform extremely long-range reconnaissance. Her eye traversed to the headquarters of the Demon Slayer Corps, which was what the demon hunters patrolling the night had missed.

Those who have read the manga will also know that she played a vital role in Muzan's finding of Kagaya Ubuyashiki. Fans can also expect the New Upper Moon 4 demon to have a more active role in the next season, which will adapt the Infinity Castle arc.

This story arc doesn't have much action, so Nakime will not get a chance to showcase her abilities. However, she will certainly be a thorn in the demon hunter's side as she will do everything she can to assist Muzan and other Upper Moon demons in their quest to defeat the current demon hunters.
