In the Tower of God manhwa series from author SIU (an acronym for Slave.In. Utero), there exists no shortage of unanswered questions and lingering mysteries. These apply to everything from the series’ worldbuilding and lore to questions about characters’ motivations and origins, which can even apply to protagonist Bam in some cases.
However, one of the biggest questions fans currently have is “who is the Prince of Jahad in Tower of God,” which has been lingering since the start of the manhwa’s second part. While there’s no confirmed answer to “who is the Prince of Jahad,” the fandom agrees that Wangnan Ja or Bam are likely candidates and that it’s related to the Princes of the Red-light District.

The significance of Tower of God's Prince of Jahad
Despite Bam being Tower of God’s protagonist, there’s arguably just as much evidence, if not more, for Wangnan Ja being the true Prince of Jahad as there is for Bam. However, it’s best to first explain exactly what the Prince of Jahad is based on the information currently available to fans as of this article’s writing.
The Prince of Jahad is the title of a currently undisclosed character which was first mentioned by Jaina Repellista Zahard in the prologue chapter of the manhwa’s second part. The official title of the second part is also The Return of the Prince, which is seemingly a reference to the Prince of Jahad given Jaina’s words.
The end of the Workshop Battle Arc also mentions the title, with Po Bidau Gustang speaking with someone who wonders who the Prince of Jahad is. They also claim that the prince is “who will take the last test of this Tower.” Some of the Tower’s denizens also believe that the Jahad Empire will be expanded by the King’s “yet-to-be-born ‘only son.’” However, King Jahad doesn’t officially recognize any prince as of this article’s writing.
Why Wangnan Ja may be the Prince of Jahad
A key reason why Wangan Ja is arguably more likely to be the Prince of Jahad than Bam is that Wangnan is considered a protagonist of the second part alongside Bam. This is especially significant given that the title of the second part is The Return of the Prince as mentioned above. Wangnan also has an edge in being a confirmed Prince of the Red-light District.
As far as fans currently know, the Princes of the Red-light District are “the most terrible affair left by the Ten Great Families and Jahad” according to Hwaryun. Rachel’s unknown informant also called them Jahad’s “worst disgrace” and something that he has tried to hide ever since their exception since their existence is a shame to him.
Wangnan is confirmed to be the “Yellow Prince” of the Red-light District, evidenced by his bearing a red ring with Jahad’s symbol on it. These rings are crafted from half of the Key of the Tower, with the other half making up the 13 Month Series. It’s also said that only when all the Princes of the Red-light District gather on the 135th floor that it can be conquered. All of this combines to make Wangnan a viable answer to the question “who is the Prince of Jahad?”
Why Bam may be the Prince of Jahad
As mentioned above, Bam “returning” in and being a protagonist of Tower of God’s Return of the Prince section is a key factor in why he may be the Prince of Jahad. However, he falls behind Wangnan when it comes to being a Prince of the Red-light District, with Bam not confirmed as one as of this article’s writing. However, Bam does have his own unique edge in being the son of V and Arlen Grace, two former allies of Jahad.
Jahad’s relationship with Bam’s mother Arlen is specifically what gives him a boon in this context. Jahad was in love with Arlen, but rejected his proposal since she was already in love with V. It can thus be argued that Bam is spiritually the Prince of Jahad by nature of being the son of the woman he loved. Some theories suggest Bam is somehow Jahad’s son rather than Arlen’s, but recent issues of the manhwa have cast doubt on this theory.
There’s also the fact that Bam’s journey and goals in Tower of God necessitate his advancing past the 135th floor. Given the aforementioned rumor that it’ll be Jahad’s only son who advances past the 135th floor, this would suggest Bam to be the true Prince of Jahad. However, the character’s status isn’t confirmed as of this article’s writing. This likewise leaves the question of “who is the Prince of Jahad” unanswered contemporarily.
Final thoughts
While there is no concrete answer to “who is the Prince of Jahad in Tower of God,” Wangnan Ja and Bam are the most likely candidates as it currently stands. The two share some evidence for why it could be either of them, yet also have unique supporting factors that distinguish them. However, it’s unconfirmed exactly who the Prince of Jahad is or could be as of this article’s writing.
