One of the most unique and beloved aspects of the Tower of God anime and manhwa series is how large and diverse its cast can be, constantly rotating characters in and out of the fold. One of the most beloved characters who often cycles through these rotations is Yuri Ha Jahad, who also plays a major role in the series despite lacking continuous presence.

However, fans will often ask “Who is Yuri in Tower of God” whenever her name is brought up due to how infrequently she appears in the series. This is especially true for anime-only fans, who are still just getting to know her. Yuri Jahad is one of Jahad’s Princesses from the Ha family, who is a High Ranker, an ally of Wolhaiksong, and an ally of series protagonist 25th Bam, whose role in the series is significant.

Yuri’s role in Tower of God

While that answers the question of “Who is Yuri in Tower of God?” it doesn’t fully drive home how significant her role is. Firstly, she’s the one who helps Bam pass Headon’s entrance test into the Tower at the start of the series. She does so by offering him the Black March, one of the 13-month series weapons that she earned the right to hold, a unique privilege even among the larger Jahad’s Princesses group.

Likewise, she played a direct role in allowing Bam to ascend the tower and did so many times thereafter. For example, the Hell Train Arc saw her escort Bam and his group of allies through the titular locomotive’s route up various floors of the Tower. This included the Floor of Death, also known as the 43rd Floor, where Enryu slayed an Administrator. The Last Station Arc also saw her put her status as a Princess on the line to ensure Bam and his allies escaped.

She later reappears in Part 3 during the events, that focus on the Poe Bidau family’s looming conflict with the Lo Po Bia family. Yet again, she plays a key role here in assisting Bam on his journey up the Tower, albeit in a less direct manner than she previously did. This is because, after the events of The Last Station Arc, she was put on probation and forced to enlist in Jahad’s Army as a means of penance.

As of this article’s writing, her last appearance comes in Volume 3 Chapter 177, which sees her part ways with Bam after helping him during the aforementioned Poe Bidau/Lo Po Bia conflict. It’s unclear when she’ll reappear next in the series, but it’s safe to say that she’ll have an incredibly significant role when she does so.

Yuri’s allegiances explained

As mentioned above, Yuri is currently a member of Jahad’s Army in the Tower of God, which she has established as her top priority aside from assisting Bam. She equally prioritizes her status as a princess, with both of these circumstances of her life being why she couldn’t help Bam as outwardly as she used to be able to when they last met.

However, Yuri has made it clear that her biggest allegiance is with Bam many times throughout the series. Likewise, while it was long thought she was a member of Wolhaiksong, she is instead friendly with the organization while abstaining from official membership. Although her membership wouldn’t inherently be a problem, she may bump shoulders with enemies of Jahad by doing so.

The answer to the question of “Who is Yuri in Tower of God?” lies in her role and various titles in the series. For the former, she mainly serves as a key ally to Bam, who has a knack for showing up when he needs help most. Regarding the latter, she is one of Jahad’s Princesses from the Ha family who is regarded as one of the most powerful and uncontrollable.
