Episode 1 of Kei Sazane's Why Does Nobody Remember Me in This World anime, titled The Boy Forgotten by the World, would kick off one of the most hyped-up anime releases of the Summer 2024 season.

The narrative focuses on a time when the world witnessed the "Five Races War," where the Demons, Primals, Spirits, and Mythical Beasts fought against humanity. The great war ended with humanity's victory, where the hero Sid played a crucial role in leading humanity's forces against their enemies and defeated heroes of the other races.

After the war, humanity enjoyed undisturbed peace for a hundred years. However, this peace came to an unexpected halt when the world suddenly got "overwritten" right before the eyes of Kai Sakura Vento, who was enjoying his everyday life with his childhood friend Jeanne.

In this rewritten world, everything that could go wrong went wrong, as Kai witnessed humanity's defeat in the "Five Races War" due to the absence of Sid - who was the sole reason behind humanity's victory in the original world. As a result, the new world succumbed to the power of the dragons and demons. To make matters worse, Kai soon discovers that he has become a forgotten existence in this doomed world.

Fortunately, a chance encounter with a mysterious girl named Rinne strengthens Kai's resolve to break free from this rewritten fate. In a world without heroes, Kai inherited the hero's sword with Rinne's help, following which he sets out to challenge the powerful enemy races that now dominate the world.

It is a classic tale of a boy "forgotten by the world" who fights against powerful enemies to take back his true world. With such an interesting premise, fans can expect the upcoming anime to become one of the best releases of the Summer 2024 season.
