Episode 9 of Why Does Nobody Remember Me in This World anime, titled Center of the World, started off with a full-blown battle between the Hero of the Spirits, Rikugen Kyoko, and the Hero of Mythical Beasts, Rath=IE. Although Rikugen dominated the early stages of the fight by using the full extent of her magical abilities, Rath=IE had an unexpected card up her sleeve - her Last Riser, which obliterated the Hero of the Spirits in one blow.
Elsewhere, Kai and his group were seen heading down south to join forces with the Yulun Foundation, along with Reiren, who was ordered by the Great Elder Elf to accompany them on their journey. Her addition to the group certainly made their journey seem more lively, especially due to her frequent banter with Rinne.
After travelling a significant distance, Kai and his group stopped to set up camp near a hot spring, where they finally managed to rest and recuperate from their injuries. Apparently, the hot spring water was said to have mild healing abilities.
On the other hand, Jeanne was seen expressing her concerns regarding the Last Riser to Kai, Jeanne, and Reiren, who reflected on all of their previous encounters with the mysterious monster. They managed to deduce that the Last Riser might be monitoring the Heroes of each race individually and only resorted to attacking them upon any mention of the Prophet Sid.
Towards the end of the episode, Kai and his group were attacked by an extraordinarily strong mythical beast, who proved to be a bigger challenge to them than any other mythical beast they had faced. Although they eventually managed to defeat the beast with their combined efforts and strategic planning, Kai ended up getting severely wounded by it while trying to save Rinne.
The following day, Kai, Reiren, Rinne, and Jeanne were seen heading towards a Megalith, aka unknown spiritual ruins where the four races used to be sealed away in the original world. As the group pondered on whether to enter the Megalith or not, a mysterious yet familiar voice welcomed them inside. With this, the episode came to an end.
