Why Does Nobody Remember Me in This World episode 2 recap
Episode 2 of Why Does Nobody Remember Me in This World anime, titled Rinne, picked up from where the first episode left off, with Kai being transported into a mysterious dimension after coming into contact with Sid's sword, the Code Holder.
In this other dimension, Kai came across a girl named Rinne who was bound by chains. He quickly recognized that Rinne possessed the characteristics of all five races. After he freed her, however, Rinne immediately attacked him, under the assumption that he was sent to end her by the hero of the Demons, the Dark Empress Vanessa.
After the duo cleared up their misunderstanding, they were suddenly interrupted by a mysterious and powerful monster, who almost succeeded in wiping out Rinne. Fortunately, Kai stopped the monster with the Code Holder, which then transported them back to where he initially found the sword.
Following this, Kai persuaded Rinne to come back with him to his abode, after he came to know that the latter also had memories of the original history where humanity won the war. As the two started to interact more and exchange information according to their memories, the monsters suddenly attacked the underground city, where humanity had taken refuge.
Although humanity's forces initially struggled against the monsters, Kai and Rinne managed to combine their forces to fend off the monsters' attack. After this, Kai and Rinne were summoned to Jeanne's hideout, where the former tried to explain that he was from another world where humanity was victorious against the other races.
Naturally, the majority of the people didn't take his words seriously at first. However, Jeanne let go of her doubts about Kai when the latter told her about her family's history and their relationship back in his world. As such, Jeanne, who was still a bit skeptical about Kai's words, ultimately ended up deciding to rely on his knowledge and power. With this, the episode came to an end.
