Why Does Nobody Remember Me in This World episode 3 recap
Episode 3 of Why Does Nobody Remember Me in This World anime, titled The Hero of the Demons, was mostly focused on Kai, Rinne, and the Urza Rebel Army's counterattack on the Dark Empress Vanessa and her army of powerful demons.
The battle took place on each floor of the Government palace, which was converted into Vanessa's stronghold. Jeanne, Rinne, Falin, and the rest of the Urza army were tasked with taking care of Vanessa's army, while Kai alone decided to take on the Dark Empress.
The episode showed off the individual powers and capabilities of Jeanne and Falin, who proved their worth as some of humanity's strongest soldiers. On the other hand, Rinne was determined to make it out of the palace alive with Kai, who she had apparently taken a liking to and swore to protect.
Kai's battle against Vanessa proved why the latter was hailed as the Hero of the Demons. That said, a moment that stood out during their interaction prior to their fight, was Vanessa's reaction upon hearing the Prophet Sid's name, which seemingly triggered an unexpected reaction in her.
However, she eventually brushed it off and took on Kai, who managed to hold on to his life thanks to Sid's sword - the Code Holder. At the end of the episode, there was a surprise appearance by Rasterizer B, who had an interesting monologue while trying to erase Vanessa from existence.
Although the reason behind Rasterizer B's attack wasn't really explained in the episode, it can be inferred from her words that it had something to do with the creation of this new world and Vanessa possibly being a threat to this recreated history. That said, Vanessa was able to fend off the attack with what seemed to be one of her strongest spells, which proved to Kai and Rinne that they might be a bit shorthanded to take on the Dark Empress. With that, the episode came to an end.
