While it has been some time since the Dragon Ball Super manga has gone on a hiatus, fans must remember the Granolah the Survivor Saga. This story arc saw Goku and Vegeta fight some strong opponents, including Granolah, Gas, and Frieza. While Gas and Frieza were strong in the first place, how did Granolah become so powerful?

As fans might remember, Granolah became so powerful because he made a wish using the Cerealian Dragon Balls to become the greatest warrior in the universe. This development saw the warrior give away a large portion of his lifespan in exchange for gaining his powers.

Being a Cerealian, Granolah possessed an evolved right eye from the get-go. This special eye gave him enhanced sight and perception, making him a skilled sniper. However, as explained by the manga, not all Cerealians were like Granolah as he was a cut above others of his kind.

That said, as far as physical prowess was concerned, Granolah was not quite strong as he was no match for Gas. This was also observed by Elec and Monaito as both believed that the bounty hunter would easily lose against the present-day Frieza.

The only other ability he possessed before wishing to become the greatest warrior in the universe was his Ki Blast. Granolah could launch ki blasts by extending his index and middle finger and keeping his thumb up, something similar to enacting a finger pistol.

Granolah's power-up in Dragon Ball Super

Granolah was not strong enough to face Frieza or the remaining Saiyans like Goku and Vegeta. Hence, he was forced to make a wish to the Cerealian Dragon, one that would make him the greatest warrior in the universe. While the Dragon fulfilled his wish, there was a catch. Granolah would have to sacrifice a large portion of his lifespan to gain this power. Given how desperate he was, the Cerealian accepted the Dragon's terms.

Granolah's power-up in Dragon Ball Super essentially saw him attain new abilities. As for his existing abilities, all of them became much stronger. Speaking of that, the ability that enhanced the most was his evolved eyes. While previously only his right eye was special, following the wish, both his eyes evolved. This essentially increased his attacks' accuracy and power. In addition, his Ki Blasts became much more powerful, allowing him to incur damage to the Saiyans.

But as mentioned, that wasn't all as the wish to the dragon saw Granolah be granted Flight, Telekinesis, Hakai, Ki Sense, Spirit Control, and Magic. Some of these abilities were given considering the wish to become the greatest warrior. However, abilities like Instant Transmission and Hakai shocked Goku and Vegeta as well. This is because, while they were well-versed with the techniques, they never learned how to counter them.
