Boruto Two Blue Vortex chapter 10, released on May 20, 2024, marked the official awakening of Himawari as the Jinchuriki of the Nine-tails and the return of Kurama since his death during the fight against Isshiki Otsutsuki.
Since her awakening, everyone has been talking about why Boruto, the protagonist, didn't awaken Kurama inside him as, according to fans, he is stronger than her sister, and making him the Jincuriki would make more sense.
But the matter extends to the genetics of the Uzumaki family. Both of the children of Naruto Uzumaki inherited his chakra, and as Momoshiki has overwritten Boruto's chakra as an Otsutsuki, Himawari was left with the chakra of his father, which was also the chakra of the Nine-tails fox. This is why Himawari becoming the next Jinchuriki of the Nine-tails makes more sense.

Boruto: Exploring why Himawari was destined to become the Jinchuriki of the Nine-tails
Boruto Uzumaki was the firstborn in the house of the Uzumaki family. Himawari Uzumaki was born after him. While the former got the looks of his father, the latter got the looks of her mother, but both of them inherited the whiskers of their father.
Both of them received genes from their parents, making them compatible for inheriting the Nine-tails and becoming a vessel for the Otsutsuki. The protagonist became the vessel for Momoshiki Otsutsuki after defeating the antagonist alongside Naruto and Sasuke.
After becoming a vessel, Momoshiki started to overwrite the protagonist's genetic makeup as an Otsutsuki, which was the purpose of the Karma. Once the overwriting is done, Momoshiki will be reborn from the protagonist's body. As the protagonist's genetic makeup has already been overwritten to some extent, the Nine-tail chakra he received from his father could have become recessive.
On the other hand, Himawari's genetic makeup was still pure when his brother became the vessel for Momoshiki. So, the little Nine-tails chakra inside Himawari was a stimulus for Kurama to be reborn inside her, making her the Jinchuriki of the Nine-tails.
Himawari's potential as a Jinchuriki
After awakening inside Himawari, Kurama revealed that his affinity with Himawari is the most out of all the previous jinchuriki. This could be because Kurama was reborn as a little fox, thus giving him a chance to grow and nurture his chakra inside a Jinchuriki from the start of his life, making their affinity greater than the previous jinchuriki.
Moreover, according to the preview of Two Blue Vortex chapter 11, Himawari is able to make a Tailed Beast bomb in her human form, indicating that she is the strongest Jinchuriki in the series.
