Why Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 262 doesn't write Yuji out of the rest of the Sukuna battle, explained

Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 262 was rather short, considering the stage the battle has boiled up to. Gojo Satoru's return (with Yuta Okkotsu in the driving seat), Round 2 of the 'Battle of the Strongest' has begun.

The two sorcerers have engaged in another Domain clash of epic proportions. Both sorcerers are matching the other in terms of technique and sheer battle intellect. But it seems like Ryomen Sukuna has gauged how to bypass Gojo's Limitless, landing a hard blow to the latter's face.

As this fight kicks off a second time, many have begun to question Yuji Itadori's role henceforth. With Gojo(Yuta) back, there seems to be a collective concern that Yuji might have been written out of the final battle. But that will likely not be the case.

Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 262 proves why Yuji might still have a role in the Sukuna battle

As round 2 of the 'Battle of the Strongest' gets underway in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 262, the fandom has exhibited concern that Yuji is being written off for the final bit of the story. But this is not true. Rather, chapter 262 proves why he is still an integral piece of the puzzle to defeating Sukuna.

The most recent chapter was a testament to Sukuna's expert knowledge of Jujutsu. Despite being so depleted, he is yet managing to more than fight back against Gojo(Yuta). Moreover, he was quick to blow directly on the white-haired sorcerer after bypassing his Limitless with Amplification.

Such a moment in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 262 is worrying, given that Gojo(Yuta)'s return is likely the Jujutsu High sorcerers' ace in the hole. But then again, it is also a testament to Yuji's importance in this final fight, and with good reason. Even with Gojo(Yuta) returning, the one to defeat the King of Curses will be Yuji.

Previously, Yuji has been the one to surprise Sukuna considerably. His use of the Reverse Cursed Technique intrigued the Demon King. Again, he managed to damage Sukuna the most with his barrage of 8 Black Flashes. Then, his use of Blood Manipulation was startling to the King of Curses.

Further, despite witnessing Choso's death, he was reinvigorated by Todo's arrival. With Todo by his side, the pink-haired teen was relentless against Sukuna, on the verge of ripping his heart out.

All this points to one thing - Yuji Itadori will defeat Sukuna. His development till and during this fight has been for the sole purpose of besting the Demon King. He has more than lived up to his potential, and it cannot be for nothing.

Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 262 proves why Yuji Itadori is the series' true protagonist. He has been one of the few to face the toughest setbacks among the entire cast of characters. However, he has also been one of the characters who displayed the most impressive growth in a short period.

While Yuta has also been slated to be the main protagonist beside Yuji, his involvement in this battle hasn't been consistent. Even with a bold move, like taking control of Gojo, he seems shaky against Sukuna. Also, he may be trapped in his sensei's body for good, which is why Rika appears so extremely distressed in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 262.

But that aside, this could be the best opportunity for a Gojo(Yuta)-Yuji-Todo team-up. That will be never before seen in Jujutsu Kaisen, and fans might finally get a chance to see a student and sensei (kind of) pair up too.
