My Hero Academia chapter 426 has recently been leaked and while the bulk of the plot was centered around the Todoroki family, there was a moment where the manga focused on Lady Nagant and the conclusion to her journey in the series. It was revealed during a conversation she had with Hawks that she decided to stay in prison after the final war arc, which seems like a fitting end for her character's ultimate fate.

This is a decision that might be divisive to some My Hero Academia fans, especially considering that Lady Nagant tried to make amends during the final arc, but is the right message. Lady Nagant was always a morally gray character and the crimes she committed cannot go unpunished, especially considering that she made them out of her volition.

Explaining why Lady Nagant staying in prison is a fitting end for her character in My Hero Academia

It was through recently leaked chapter 426 that it was confirmed that Lady Nagant is not only alive but she has also decided to stay at prison in the aftermath of the final war arc. This decision was met with some division in the fandom, especially by those fans who have taken a major liking to her and thought she redeemed herself by aiding Deku against Tomura Shigaraki and All For One.

However, it is a fitting conclusion for Lady Nagant, who committed several crimes, whether it was to serve authorities or simply because her moral compass had been corrupted. Furthermore, she had no problem siding with All For One and taking innocent lives, so it made sense that she would decide to stay in prison to atone for her sins, especially considering she chose that out of her own volition.

Furthermore, she has gone on record saying that she is a criminal and that her hands are tainted with blood. By that logic, she has to make up for his mistakes. She only left prison in the first place because All For One broke out, so is also logical she has to return there, even if she helped in the final battle.

There is no denying that Lady Nagant made a strong first impression from the moment she first showed up in the My Hero Academia manga, and has been a fan favorite ever since. A lot of people have praised her design, the nature of her Quirk, her cool factor, and how skilled she is as a fighter, which was highlighted during her battle with Deku.

Furthermore, Lady Nagant presents the dubious morality of some heroes, and some of them, such as her and Hawks, have had to make some questionable decisions to keep society going. It added a layer of complexity to the series, even if some have felt that author Kohei Horikoshi should have developed this plot point further in the story.

Final thoughts

Lady Nagant had a fitting end to her journey in My Hero Academia as she assumed responsibility for the decisions she made and chose to pay for her crimes. It shows a degree of maturity for her character, and also how she made peace with her past to some degree.
