While fans may think of Kawaki or the God Trees to be the main antagonists of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga, they shouldn't forget the series' silent antagonist Momoshiki Otsutsuki. However, this is not the first time the franchise has done something like this, as the majority of the Naruto anime had fans thinking that Madara Uchiha and the Akatsuki were the main antagonists. Meanwhile, Obito Uchiha was working from the shadows.
That said, unlike Obito Uchiha who got a redemption moment at the end of Naruto Shippuden, there's no chance that Momoshiki Otsutsuki would be redeemed in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. That's because, while the two characters are antagonists, their stories are very different. The same outcome was also hinted at by the manga creator Masashi Kishimoto.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex: Why Momoshiki won't get a redemption moment like Obito
To explain this, one will have to take a look at Obito Uchiha's past. As fans might remember, Obito Uchiha was a good boy in the past who bore no evil. Unfortunately, in a twist of events, he was heavily injured, went missing and was considered dead by the Hidden Leaf Village. Following that, he was looked after by Madara Uchiha and Zetsu, both of whom helped him recover from his injuries.
Sometime later, Zetsu informed Obito about Shinobi from another village having kidnapped Rin Nohara after she was turned into the Jinchuriki of Three Tails, Isobu.
Just as Obito reached the location, he witnessed Rin moving toward Kakashi Hatake's Chidori to sacrifice herself and ensure the safety of her loved ones. As Obito had a crush on Rin, he was devastated by the events and massacred every Shinobi in the vicinity.
Following that, upon Madara's instructions, Obito Uchiha established the Akatsuki, an organization aimed at collecting the chakra of all Tailed Beasts to help bring forth the Ten Tails.
This move subsequently helped Obito and Madara create the Chakra Fruit that would allow its user to use the Infinite Tsukuyomi. The jutsu could put all humans to sleep, helping them dream a reality of their choosing. With that, Obito wished to put an end to all war and conflict.
The reason why he later received a redemption moment is because Naruto shared the same dream as him, i.e., to become a Hokage. Hence, as he trusted Naruto to bring peace to the world, he sacrificed himself to protect him.
In comparison, up until now, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations or Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga hasn't given fans any emotional backstory for Momoshiki Otsutsuki. The only thing fans know is that Momoshiki arrived on Earth to look for Kaguya and her God Tree. But with Kaguya dead, he focused on creating a God Tree with Naruto's Kurama chakra. Unfortunately for him, he was defeated by the Shinobi, forcing him to implant karma on Boruto to give himself a chance at survival.
As fans can observe, there's no part of Momoshiki's past provided by the manga that hints at the Otsutsuki having any redeemable qualities. The only way something of this sort could happen is if Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga introduces such a development, but it's highly unlikely.
That's because manga creator Masashi Kishimoto had also revealed in the past how the future developments of Boruto, i.e., the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga will be much darker than the start of the Naruto Next Generations manga. Hence, there's a greater chance that there will be no redemption story for a character of Momoshiki's caliber.
