Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga has shifted its focus to Himawari Uzumaki and Boruto since they are the main characters responsible for driving the plot of the series. The likes of Sarada Uchiha have been sidelined for quite some time now. The Uchiha prodigy was all set to push the boundaries of combat, but she didn't receive the character development fans assumed she'd get.

However, she managed to activate her Mangekyou Sharingan, which was an important point in the manga. However, fans seem to have one question: despite having one of the most advanced Doujutsu in the manga, why does Sarada wear glasses? To understand the reason for her poor eyesight, one must revisit the events that took place during the formative years of her life.

Sarada wears glasses in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex because of her poor eyesight, which was caused by an incident in her childhood. When she was young, she developed a fever that had lasting effects on her body.

During this fever, Sasuke Uchiha, her father, was on a mission to retrieve information about the Otsutsuki. Sarada's vision was impaired permanently because of the fever, and Karin entered the equation. She helped Sarada by giving her glasses, which corrected her vision.

This is the real reason why Sarada Uchiha wears glasses in the anime and manga series. Plenty of theories floating around on the internet discuss various reasons for her poor eyesight.

One of the most common theories is the presence of Sakura Haruno's genes in Sarada. Some fans claim that the presence of Sakura's “weak” genes led to her daughter's poor eyesight, which is quite far from the truth.

The subpar eyesight isn’t much of a problem in battle since she has access to Mangekyo Sharingan. This enhances her abilities rather drastically. Despite the answer provided by the manga author through the contents of the animanga series, the fanbase doesn’t seem too satisfied with the answer.

Fans must understand that this could have been a creative choice taken by the person responsible for the character design. Once the character’s design was ready, the writers could have found a way to justify her bad eyesight.

That being said, Sarada’s character design isn’t one of the most pressing issues with the manga at the moment. Fans would love to see her receive more attention in the manga. She has yet to showcase her true potential, and it will be interesting to see how she measures up compared to some of her comrades like Boruto and Kawaki.
