Will there be Mushoku Tensei season 3? Renewal possibilities explored

Mushoku Tensei season 3 has been officially announced to be under production. The news was made public immediately after the grand finale of the second season, which aired on Sunday, June 30, 2024. To commemorate the announcement, the anime also dropped a brief teaser that shows the official title card of Mushoku Tensei season 3.

However, it was not just that, as the anime also released an illustration featuring young Rudeus Greyrat being lifted playfully by his father, Paul Greyrat. Mushoku Tensei season 3 has yet to announce a release date

Given that Mushoku Tensei season 3 was announced after the second season’s finale, it will expectedly take some time for the anime to come up with an official release date. As of now, the third installment is under production, as announced in the official teaser.

Given that the teaser doesn’t provide much, anticipation for the release of season 3 and what comes next is at a fever pitch. Mushoku Tensei season 1 premiered on January 11, 2021, and before its release, the series was split into two parts.

The first part of season 1 ran till March 22, 2021, and the second part from October 4 to December 20, 2021. Overall, the episode count was 23. The second season also followed the same split-cour pattern and was released on July 3, 2023.

The second cour of season 2 ended its run on June 30, 2024, and eventually confirmed the series’ continuation. Despite no release dates for the third installment having been announced yet, based on the release patterns of the previous seasons, Mushoku Tensei season 3 is likely to be released sometime in 2026.

This is just speculation based on the release patterns of the first two seasons, and the official release information and other pertinent details will be revealed in time.

What to expect from Mushoku Tensei season 3

Mushoku Tensei season 3 will begin the Young-man Period, kicking off from the 13th volume of the light novel series. Given the anime remained loyal to the original source material, the third season will be all about Rudeus trying to move past the grief of losing Paul and having his mother in a dream-like state.

Season 3 will also see Rudeus and Roxy’s wedding, which wasn’t covered in the second season. Rudeus, Sylphie, and Roxy will explore the new side of the polygamous bliss in their lives as their family has grown big.

Rudeus will be in for a surprise as he is anticipated to cross paths with Eris. Fans of the series must brace themselves as season 3 will also be about Turning Point 4.
