Wind Breaker chapter 157 was expected to continue the fight between Takiishi and Umemiya and reveal the outcome of the latter's lethal punch on the former. As expected, the punch was powerful enough to send Takiishi flying into a bunch of tables but their fight continued after with a sentimental monologue from the Noroshi leader.
Moreover, rain also started pouring. Even though Takiishi tried to take the lead over his opponent, Umemiya showed no blindspot, and with a final punch to the face, Takiishi was sent to the ground. Umemiya then asked Takiishi about their fight and the Noroshi leader declared the Furin leader the winner of the final battle as they both enjoyed the view of the rain.

Wind Breaker chapter 157: Takiishi admits defeat as Umemiya again saves Furin High's future
Wind Breaker chapter 157, titled Remaining Embers, commenced where it left off as Umemiya's lethal blow sent Takiishi into a bunch of tables. This amazed the spectators Endo and Sakura who were not expecting Umemiya's blow to be this effective.
After Takiishi regained his senses, it started raining, and Takiishi's monologue began. Takiishi admitted that he didn't like rain to that point in his life since he hated getting wet and also because fireworks couldn't be performed in the rain.
However, given the current situation against Umemiya, he claimed that he liked the slow rain pouring. After this brief moment, Takiishi stood up, locked gazes with his opponent, and stated that he wanted the fight against Umemiya to last a little longer.
Umemiya then tried pinning Takiishi to the ground but the Noroshi leader reversed his technique on Umemiya. While being pinned to the ground, Umemiya kicked Takiishi in the guts. Takiishi then remembered Umemiya's bet of telling the Furin leader his story if he lost.
Takiishi then realized how till that point, he had things he hated and liked but Umemiya's blows were burning a new feeling inside him (hinting that he never liked to get hit by someone but was currently enjoying it).
As Takiishi asked Umemiya, inside his head, about what he was doing to his body, the last punch the Noroshi leader received to the face kicked its effects and Takiishi fell to the ground. Umemiya then mounted him and asked Takiishi about his thoughts on their fight.
Takiishi replied that it was fun, to which Umemiya asked him if this marked his win. Takiishi said that he didn't care about winning or losing the fight, as he was just fighting for his pleasure and declared Umemiya the winner. He then asked Umemiya to off of him because he wanted to enjoy the pouring rain.
Final thoughts
With the conclusion of Wind Breaker chapter 157, the final fight of the nightmare on Furin High could have ended because there is no telling whether Endo would accept the results of this fight. However, with Takiishi now fully satisfied by finally getting beaten for the first time in his life by Umemiya, the next chapter could see Takiishi telling his life story to Umemiya, just like they promised.
