Wistoria: Wand and Sword chapter 46 begins with a scene at the Earth faction, where Colette has shut herself in a room since Julius's death. She blames herself for the ice mage's tragic fate since she called everybody out to the tavern. Colette's friend Rose implores her to come out of her room.

When she doesn't listen, Rose recalls Colette's past and feels how much she has changed. According to Wistoria: Wand and Sword chapter 46, Rose feels the present Colette is nothing like the person she met in the academy's first year. Back then, she looked disheveled and completely indifferent to anyone.

However, everything changed when Colette met Will Serfort and became friends with him. Wistoria: Wand and Sword chapter 46 reveal some interesting panels, where Will is seen saving Colette from a fatal calamity.

The narrative for Wistoria: Wand and Sword chapter 46 switches to the Fairy Faction, where Wignall trains under Filvis and Lefiya. The former reprimands Wignall for not concentrating enough to learn Alhem, The Forest of Healing, considered one of the most important healing magic of the Elf Faction.

Lefiya reminds Wignall that Healing Magic is the Elf Faction's specialty. While the Light Mages are capable of casting a kind of it, a majority of the Lyzance are fierce and, therefore can't reliably wield it. That's why, an Elf's illusions are crucial to anyone hoping to protect their allies.

Wignall knows it all too well, but he recently received a letter from Will and learned about a traitor possibly living amongst them. As such, he finds it hard to concentrate on his training, with a traitor lurking around. Filvis, on the other hand, feels Wignall has wasted his talent at the academy for six years.

She and Lefiya also badmouth his friends, calling them obtuse mages who poisoned his potential. Wignall becomes furious and shouts at them to take their words back. He doesn't care whether or not he's a failure, but he will always cherish the moments he spent connecting with others at the Rigarden academy.

Wignall's response in Wistoria: Wand and Sword chapter 46 delights Lefiya, who reveals that it was a test to see whether he has learned the most difficult lesson of not looking down on the others at the academy, which is a requirement for an insufferable elf hoping to break out of their shell.

Lefiya feels Wignall has managed to set his pride aside, trudge on, and stand up to his superiors. She calls it an honor to be in the presence of such an elf. Just then in Wistoria: Wand and Sword chapter 46, Ellenor Ljos Alf enters and makes some offensive remarks at Wignall. Interestingly, Lefiya and Filvis change their merry ways, which convinces Wignall that they can't be traitors or puppets.

The narrative for Wistoria: Wand and Sword chapter 46 switches to the Fire Faction, where Sion Ulster trains under the Fire Magia Vander, Cariott Incindia Wiseman. Sion demonstrates his strongest fire spell, Inflamme Burdelyon at Cariott, who easily neutralizes it with his Fire Guardian.

Cariott chides Sion's effort and says a Mage shouldn't be bolting to and fro like Zeo but stand their ground with an impenetrable defense. Cariott's Black Flame Lion, a secret spell of the Incindia Barham, passed down by generations, wows Sion Ulster.

The Black Flame Lion can conjure the strongest Guardian Magic, which can protect its summoner from any kind of attack. Cariott wants Sion to summon his own Blackflame Lion to protect himself. It doesn't have to be as gigantic as his. If he fails to do so, Cariott will use his flames to turn him into cinders.

The Fire Magia Vander mocks Sion, who is unable to even summon a baby lion. Wistoria: Wand and Sword chapter 46 switch the perspective to Sion, who struggles to concentrate, especially after learning about the puppeteer and the traitor.

Suddenly, Sion's world turns upside down as Cariott asks him whether he is worried about his schoolmates or about the traitor. From the intel that he has gathered, Sion knows that Magia Vanders aren't supposed to know about the traitors, since the order to spy was made in secret.

Cariott knows what the fire mage is thinking. He says he will find out how he knows once he becomes stronger. Cariott doesn't see how he can be forced to speak by someone who can barely handle a trivial trial. The Magia Vander's words renew Sion with vigor as he accepts the challenge.

Elsewhere in the Thunder Faction, a gigantic thunderous dragon appears, with three top mages. Wistoria: Wand and Sword chapter 46 end with Will Serfort and Lihanna Owenzaus wondering what's going to happen to them.
