Wistoria: Wand and Sword chapter 48: Will Serfort demonstrates Prime Pathos Revived against Zeo
Picking up the events from the previous chapter, Wistoria: Wand and Sword chapter 48, titled, Feel, Weave, Roar, begins with Finn observing Will Serfort's struggles against Zeo in their training. He wonders whether the boy will heed the call to expand the power of his Prime Pathos.
Overwhelmed by Zeo's astonishing strength, Will Serfort's consciousness is on the verge of collapsing. Since he's facing a Magia Vander, Will feels the Argent release is the only way he stands a chance. He wonders how can achieve such power. As if predicting Will's thoughts, Finn says the boy can't use that power since he has yet to fulfill the conditions required to access the "Fifth Source."
Will then wonders whether he can unlock the power he used earlier against Shade. However, Mercedes's visage reveals the boy can't use it until he has traced his origins. Submerged in the depths of his consciousness, Will Serfort wonders what he's supposed to do.
Although he has powers lying dormant within him, he can't access them. As he further descends inside his consciousness, Will suddenly feels the warmth of Elfaria's embrace from behind. She reminds Will about the precious moments that shaped him as a person and endowed him with strength.
Wistoria: Wand and Sword chapter 48 then shows Will Serfort witnessing his past experiences in the form of pages on a book. Every page has the boy's memories illustrated vividly. He finally realizes that he has always overcome unfamiliar territories and situations with the sheer desire to protect the people he cares about and to follow his dreams.
As such, he wants to push himself further. According to Wistoria: Wand and Sword chapter 48, Will Serfort doesn't care about "Awakening" anymore. Rather, he wants to recall how he transformed his knowledge and emotions into strength throughout his life.
With his firm resolve, Will Serfort reaches the depth of his consciousness to retrieve every magical memory he can gather to bring them back to life. From Lihanna to Elfaria to Julius, the memories of his precious friends endow him with a new power.
Wistoria: Wand and Sword chapter 48 then shows Will Serfort demonstrating a new power, Prime Pathos Revived: Glace Wis Tactical Reload. While charging at Will, Zeo wonders whether the boy has changed the affinity of his sword from the Thunder to Ice. Suddenly, he realizes something grave.
With delight on his face, Zeo escapes Will Serfort's new move, Eisplosion, thanks to the speed of his Wrathbolt style. Finn, who is observing the battle from somewhere, feels Zeo won't be lucky next time. According to Wistoria: Wand and Sword chapter 48, Will's Tactical Reload isn't simply a realignment of his sword's affinity.
Rather, the Prime Pathos Revied allows him to shuffle between different elements on a whim, even in crunch situations of a battle. Will Serfort's newfound power charges up Zeo, who looks forward to the combat. The boy then loads Thunder into his already existing Ice blade to create Dualis Wis: Argis.
The ability endows Will with insurmountable strength as he charges at Zeo at full speed. However, Priming his sword repeatedly with different elements takes a huge toll on Will's body, as he can barely move his muscles. Yet, he manages to land a hit on Zeo and earn his acknowledgment.
Meanwhile, Will's growth amuses Finn as he feels everything is happening just as Caldron has planned. Wistoria: Wand and Sword chapter 48 ends with Finn realizing that someone can become an explosive combination of Wand and Sword only by finding the solutions to problems on their own.
Conclusion
Wistoria: Wand and Sword chapter 48 marks a pivotal point for Will Serfort, who has achieved a new power by retrieving the magic memories he shared with others. Although he hasn't yet mastered his Prime Pathos Revived, Will's new ability has impressed Zeo.
Having said that, the chapter still doesn't elaborate on the lore surrounding Will Serfort's origin. However, it's clear that he's a special being, who holds the key to bringing the Wand and the Sword together.
