The episode kicks off with Logwell reporting to Cariot, the Fire Magia Vander, about the Praxis Test. During their conversation, Cariot reveals that the King hasn't returned from his dungeon expedition. Elsewhere, the Rigarden Academy's students proceed with the Dungeon Praxis test after Edward Serfence's speech.
Lihanna's party quickly clears the preliminary floors to venture deep into the dungeon. Will Serfort lags behind because he doesn't have the Search skill, which is necessary in a dungeon.
His teammates' Search skills are wider than his senses. Will wonders whether he will end up carrying bags throughout the praxis. The boy's lack of magic and contribution makes Wignall second-guess Lihanna's decision. However, Will doesn't want to get bogged down by their comments.
After some time, Lihanna feels they should rest for a bit. Wignall creates a false fire wall around them using his illusion magic to keep the monsters away. During that moment, Will Serfort hands over the rations to everyone. However, Wignall refuses to take it from Will's hands.
