Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 11: Will Serfort leads the attack against the Evil Grand Duke with a proper plan
Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 11 begins with Will Serfort explaining the 1/1000 rule, a credit system according to which The Evil Grand Duke's actual worth isn't 270 credits but 270,000 credits. Since it's a monster beyond their strength to handle, Will advises everyone to fall back and strategize.
Wignall tries to buy the mages time with his illusion spells, but they fail against the Evil Grand Duke's wrath. Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 11 reveals that the Evil Grand Duke is one of the high-level demons from the evil family, which spawns on the 25th floor.
Lihanna speculates the mysterious mage killers must have brought the monsters through the Gate spell. Meanwhile, the mages spot several Evil Guards and Sentinels searching for them. As a result, they are trapped on the 11th floor, with nowhere to go.
Will Serfort rightly feels they must defeat the Evil Grand Duke to find an escape route. However, Julius doesn't want to comply with Will's plan, as he fails to understand how they can defeat such a formidable monster. In contrast, Wignall has full faith in Will, whom he has acknowledged.
Lihanna agrees with Wignall and feels Will should be the leader since he still has hope in his eyes. Despite this, Julius still fails to see how the boy can think of survival. Eventually, Will Serfort convinces the ice mage that he is the key to their plan. Moreover, he teaches Julius the secret to Elfaria's spell.
The narrative for Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 11 then shows the mages charging at the Evil Grand Duke. Julius creates multiple living clones through Ars Weiss to uninterruptedly chant the spell of advanced ice magic, while others create diversions with successive spells.
Normally, if an incantation gets interrupted, the spell won't work. However, with Ars Weiss, the living clones can take over the incantations. Julius follows Will's advice to charge his most devastating technique, Armenta Auliscas. The attack momentarily stops The Evil Grand Duke but doesn't kill it.
Lihanna then follows up with a super-charged Owensique Lisolde Dua for a close-range attack. However, she shockingly discovers a remote barrier on the monster, which activates as soon as she lands her spell. Will Serfort jumps forward to save her, but his goggles get broken in the process.
Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 11: Will Serfort plunges into despair but soon regains his composure
As soon as his goggles break, Will Serfort plunges into despair and becomes scared. To him, those goggles, given by Elfaria, were his magic armor. Without them, Will feels defenseless. Meanwhile, Wignall and Lihanna risk their lives to buy their comrades time to escape.
Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 11 then switches the perspective to Sion Ulster, who is sunken into despair. He feels certain that Wignall and Lihanna will die. As such, he tries to convince himself that it's best to escape, as it won't waste their death.
At that moment, Will Serfort cowers from behind and asks Sion to punch him. He reveals he can't stop shaking in fear since his goggles are broken. Will feels he won't be able to keep his promise to Elfaria without those goggles. Sion Ulster holds Will by the collar and reminds him how he instilled hope in everyone.
He punches him hard, reprimanding him for being scared while Lihanna and Wignall are about to die. Sion goes to punch Will a second time, but the boy regains his composure. He thanks Sion and rejoins the battle. Will Serfort's behavior confuses Sion.
Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 11 then switches the perspective to Colette, who tells Sion that Will has always been scared. Unable to hold a wand that can cast magic from a distance, Will was forced to carry a sword. Colette asks Sion if he can understand how terrifying it must have been for Will.
With tears in her eyes, she tells Sion that Will has always been a coward. Yet, he doesn't know the definition of running away owing to his unwavering courage. After her emotional outburst in Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 11, Colette joins the battle.
Meanwhile, Will Serfort observes the Evil Grand Duke's impenetrable defense because of its wings. As such, he plans to cut off the wings to have any chance of defeating the monster. Even though he is scared without his goggles, Will charges on because he's more scared of losing his friends.
The boy counters the Evil Grand Duke's spells and flies above its head. Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 11 then shows Colette demonstrating her magic to send a sword in Will's direction, which he uses to cut one of the Evil Grand Duke's wings. Seeing Will, Colette, and others putting their lives on the line, Sion Ulster regains his composure. He casts his devastating fire spell, Iflamme Burdelyon, at the monster.
Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 11: Will Serfort's Ibris Wis ends chaos
Despite taking Sion Ulster's formidable fire spell at point-blank range, the Evil Grand Duke lives on. With neither the wand nor the sword working on the monster, the mages begin to lose hope.
At that moment, Will Serfort sees an ice shard beside him. From above, we see Rosty Naumann reminding Will that the answer lies in the Wand and Sword (Will doesn't see Rosty above).
The narrative for Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 11 then switches to Will Serfort recalling a memory of a mysterious woman, entrusting the world's protection to an infant baby (Will Serfort). She gives the baby to a young man and prays that one day the Wand and Sword will join as one.
Will Serfort finally place the final jigsaw puzzle to form the whole picture. He asks Sion Ulster to cast a spell, as he feels that they need to combine Wand and Sword. Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 11 then shows Sion Ulster launching Ignis Rooks in Will's direction.
To everyone's surprise, the boy catches the spell with his sword to absorb it. Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 11 majestically shows Will Serfort standing with a sword covered in flames. Will's eyes change into red as he feels a strange power surging in him.
He charges toward the Evil Grand Duke as if swept by a torrent of energy. Without even realizing it, he chants the spell: Ignis Wis. The fully charged spell slices the Evil Grand Duke into two halves and burns it to cinders. Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 11 ends with Will Serfort miraculously defeating the Evil Grand Duke.
