Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 3: Will Serfort enters the dungeon to complete Elfaria's order
Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 3 open with Will Serfort finding out about an order placed by the Upper Institute for the entire student body. Interestingly, the client is none other than Elfaria, Will's childhood friend.
After handing out the papers, Will returns to his dormitory and asks his friend, Rosti, to create some magic artificers for him. Will reveals that they have been asked to gather Ice Cores from the Frost Walkers found on the fourth floor of the dungeon.

As per the order, Elfaria requires a lot of magical catalysts, and the students will get paid for whatever they collect. Since it's Elfaria's request, Will wants to go to the dungeon at any cost. Rosti, who knows Will better than anyone in the academy, accepts his request and hands him over a few artificers.
Following that, the narrative for the Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 3 reveals that Mercedes, the "Great Mage Queen" once said that the dungeon has the answer to everything. Therefore, she implored the "children of magic" to carry their wisdom and knowledge into the depths and master the unknown.

Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 2 then proceeds to show Will Serfort venturing into the fourth floor of the Dungeon. He observes many students engaged in battle against the Frost Walkers to collect the materials.
Suddenly, he notices a girl in trouble. Will quickly charges to eliminate the threat and saves the bespectacled girl, who later introduces herself as Iris. She recognizes Will as a scholar who cannot use magic.
Elsewhere, Workner gives a lecture on the importance of creating new magic. Colette attends the class with her friend and thinks about Will. She speculates that Will must have gone to the dungeon to carry out Elfaria's order.

Following that, Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 3 switches to the dungeon, and reveals that Iris is a fourth-year student of the Rigarden academy. She tells Will that she wants to help the Magia Vander and do her part to hold up the sky. The boy remembers that they haven't seen the real sky.
The sky that hangs over the magic world is nothing but an enormous barrier cast by the Magia Vander to protect the world from plunging into darkness. Each student at the Academy believes that whenever they fill the orders, they do their part in holding up the sky.
Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 3: Will and Iris face the Colossal in the dungeon

Will's reverie is broken by Iris, who informs him about meeting Elfaria. Apparently, the girl ventured into the dungeon after learning that the order's client was the Ice Queen. However, she laments that she hasn't been able to find a single Frost Walker.
Iris adds that her search spells haven't yielded her much. Meanwhile, Will Serfort inspects a few ice shards. He reveals that Frost Walkers usually leave these as their tracks. Judging from the number of shards in the region, he speculates there must be a colossal ahead, which cannot be found with normal search spells.

Iris becomes curious how Will, who cannot use magic, knows so much about it. The boy reminds her that while magic is impressive, it's not everything, especially in the dungeon. Suddenly, Will senses a colossal monster approaching.
He quickly takes Iris and dodges the monster's attack. Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 3 then shows Will Serfort confronting a rare Frost Rex. Will tells Iris to stay away, but the girl reminds him that physical attacks don't work on a Frost Rex, but only ranged magic.

However, Will assures the bespectacled girl that there's no need to worry. He charges at the Colossal while dodging its attacks. After finding an opening, he throws the magic artifices made by Rosti at the Frost Rex as Will Serfort knows that a Frost Rex is weak against fire and bombs.
Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 3 shows Will Serfort disengaging the bombs/magic artifices to eliminate the target.
Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 3: Iris' actual identity is revealed
Iris remains a spectator while Will Serfort defeats the Frost Rex with an ingenious strategy. She thinks there's a clear gap between the rumors and the reality surrounding Will Serfort. As such, Iris wonders how she should report the incident.
The narrative for Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 3 then shows Iris entering the Tower to inform the Magia Vander about Will. While walking in the hallway, she realizes that Will Serfort isn't a mage, but an expert warrior and swordsman.
She enters the giant door and meets the Magia Vanders seated on their thrones. Only one seat in the middle is empty. Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 3 reveal that Iris is a Watcher, sent to the academy by the Magia Vanders to scout talented mages.

The girl reports the Wizards about Will Serfort and recommends they bring him into the Tower's services. Iris' report leaves the Magia Vanders in a conflict. However, one of the Wizards feels there's no need to be hasty.
He wants them to wait for the Grand Magic Festival before making a decision. Every Magia Vander except Elfaria leaves the hall after their discussion. Iris tells the lady that Will is truly quite a find. Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 3 end with Elfaria eagerly waiting for Will to climb the tower.
