Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 5 recap
The episode begins with Principal Caldron initiating the Grand Magic Festival with the founder, Mercedes' words. A sky race follows, where Lihanna showcases her skills to enchant the crowd.
Meanwhile, Colette tricks Sion Ulster into joining her team. It is revealed that a squad requires 21,000 credits to compete in the festival. As such, Will couldn't participate without Sion's help.
The fire mage grudgingly becomes a part of Colette's party. Elsewhere, scouts from different factions gather to find the next golden egg. The festival's host, Mike Maius, grandly welcomes the mages for the afternoon competition.
The elves cast an astonishing spell to create four playing zones for the Crown Attack contest. Mike announces that the players have to begin outside the playing area and make their way into the stadium's center, where a crown is awaiting. The first team to reach it wins.
Professor Workner is shocked to see Will participating. However, the boy tells his professor that he has to win, even if he becomes a laughingstock. The episode then shows Wil Serfort easily obliterating various obstacles with Colette's help.
The mage creates a magic gauntlet for Will to use. Later in the badlands zone, she crafts several blades for the boy to tackle the traps and obstacles. Everyone is astonished to see Will Serfort clearing the traps with ease. Within no time, Will's team reaches the final zone, the Enchanted Forest.
Meanwhile, Sion recalls how humiliated he felt after being saved by Will Serfort in the dungeon. Elsewhere, Julius observes that his opponent has gone ahead of him. Yet, he maintains his composure and tells his teammates that he will handle Will.
Interestingly, Julius ambushes Will in the Enchanted Forest with a quick ice spell. The boy can't believe how the ice mage has gotten to the final zone, beating his and Colette's strategy. On the other side, Sion prepares a deadly fire spell and shoots it in Julius and Will's direction.
Colette timely erects a wall to save Will. She shouts at Sion, asking what's wrong with him. However, the boy then challenges Will to a duel. Meanwhile, Julius remains unscathed by Sion's spell. He delivers ice magic to create a barrier and split Will's forces.
Julius faces Colette on one side, leaving Sion and Will on the other. Yet, nothing changes Sion's mind as he orders Will to pick up his sword and fight him. The episode ends with Sion throwing a challenge at Will.

Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 6 is titled Between Pride and Passion. As indicated by the previous episode where Sion went berserk in the middle of the competition against his own teammate, the next episode will continue from where it left off and see Will face Sion's blazing flames while Colette is cornered by Julius on the other side of the battlefield.
Moreover, as indicated by the preview synopsis of the episode, Will understands the feelings of Sion for the very first time since they met, as all they did before was fight and argue. Fortunately, they both manage to sort out their feelings and rush towards the finish line, but Julius is already standing there, a few steps away from winning the competition.
