In July 2024, rumors of a Dragon Ball live-action took over the internet even though there wasn't any official confirmation regarding it. However, fans took it upon themselves to confirm the cast of this unofficial live-action project and took it to unbelievable heights by declaring some famous actors as the series' live-action characters.
Another scenario happened recently where an X user declared the actor of Wolverine, Hugh Jackman, a perfect live-action actor for Prince Vegeta. The X user even shared a picture of the actor dressed as Vegeta, which was probably A.I. generated. Surprisingly, the fandom didn't like the suggestion and claimed him 'unfit' for playing the role of their favorite character because of his nationality and height.

Dragon Ball: Why is Hugh Jackman declared a potential live-action actor for Prince Vegeta?
Hugh Michael Jackman is an Australian actor known for his influential movies like the X-Men series in which he played the role of Wolverine. The actor has also been awarded numerous accolades with the most famous ones being the Grammy Award and a nomination for the Academy Award.
The actor became the talk of the Dragon Ball fandom after an X user shared an image where the actor was dressed as Prince Vegeta, the deuteragonist of the anime series. The image was most probably generated through Artificial Intelligence. Surprisingly, even though the actor looked pretty good, the fandom wasn't ready to accept him as a live-action actor for Vegeta.
Reactions from the fandom behind the rejection of Hugh Jackman
The fandom was not impressed with the suggestion of Hugh Jackman playing the role of live-action Vegeta for so many reasons. The first reason was that he was tall, as compared to Vegeta, and had short hair that didn't match the hairstyle of the Dragon Ball character. Moreover, some fans even declared him similar to Vegeta's father, King Vegeta, which could be due to the actor's beard.
On the other hand, another reason mentioned by fans was that as Hugh Jackman wasn't a Japanese actor, he was not fit to play the role of Vegeta, even though the Dragon Ball character's appearance is that of an Asian/European person. Lastly, one fan stated the gist of all this talk and stated that the Australian actor was too old to play the role of the series' deuteragonist.
"Hair is too short and he’s too tall" a fan said
"He looks more like Vegetas Dad" another fan said
"Nah he ain’t Japanese" another one claimed
"He's a bit too old though unless it's set somewhere between superhero and GT, or in dystopesn trunks future about to fight bargrot robbie's 18, which does sound pretty awesome" another one said
Final thoughts
Although it is already pretty controversial for the fandom to choose a live-action actor for an anime series live-action which isn't even officially announced, it is better to leave this job in the hands of people who have experience in handling such a business.
Whereas fan opinion is of great importance, it is strange for a fandom to play the game of reject and accept with an actor who has no official link to a project. However, because the series' fandom has been pretty frustrated with their series hardly receiving any sequel announcements or updates (Dragon Ball Daima), such a scenario was expected.
