Yakuza Fiancé episode 4 aired on October 28, 2024, quickly establishing the animosity between Kirishima and Shouma and solidifying their roles as enemies. The episode primarily focused on Kirishima's twisted nature and his view of anyone who approaches Yoshino, which the latter later identifies as jealousy.
The anime is being adapted from the manga of the same name, with a consistent pacing of three chapters per episode. While most of the anime has remained faithful to the manga, Yakuza Fiancé episode 4 took some liberties and skipped panels from chapters 10 and 11.

Yakuza Fiancé episode 4 highlights
Yakuza Fiancé episode 4 starts with Shouma smoking outside a hotel when he encounters Kirishima, who has arrived unexpectedly. Shouma booked the hotel himself, leaving Yoshino to rest in her room. Kirishima asks about Yoshino, implying he might have followed her, and drops hints about wanting to marry her.
Shouma, suspicious, confronts Kirishima about involving Yoshino in his plans.
In response, Kirishima admits his ambition to marry her, despite Shouma's disapproval. The conversation escalates as Kirishima hints at political manipulation surrounding Yoshino, led by the chairman’s agenda, and reveals his strategy to stay close to her, blending his own feelings with a disturbing willingness to follow orders.
Shouma is unsettled by Kirishima’s unnerving smile and apparent lack of sincerity, leaving him doubtful of Kirishima’s true motives.
Growing impatient, Yoshino steps outside and finds the two men talking. She questions Kirishima’s sudden appearance, discovering he’s been tracking her with a cloned phone despite her attempts to disable his GPS.
Irritated, she insists Kirishima be more direct rather than monitoring her secretly. Shouma, uncomfortable with Kirishima's behavior, suggests Yoshino return to Osaka with him. Kirishima refuses, maintaining he’s a better match for her.
A brief argument ensues, and Yoshino ultimately decides to assert her independence, telling Shouma to return to Osaka alone while she stays. The next morning, Yoshino sees Shouma off at the station.
Shouma expresses concern about her safety, given Kirishima’s erratic behavior, and the two discuss Yoshino’s determination to stand firm on her principles.
Yoshino clarifies her willingness to risk everything for her beliefs, drawing a contrast between her and Shouma’s values.
Their conversation takes a lighter turn as Shouma finds a breadcrumb on Yoshino, but he also advises her to act sensibly, vowing to investigate the chairman’s intentions upon returning.
The two share a warm goodbye, with Shouma promising to keep in touch, unaware that Kirishima is silently observing from a distance.
Later, on the train to school, Yoshino picks up on Kirishima’s jealousy regarding her relationship with Shouma, confronting him directly. Tension eases as they each reveal their plans, acknowledging their mutual distrust.
Subsequently, Yoshino falls ill with a high fever, and Kirishima rushes her to the hospital for treatment.
The Yakuza Fiancé episode 4 concludes with a discussion between Kirishima and Yoshino's Yakuza grandfather about her future, which Shouma listens in on from the sidelines.
Yakuza Fiancé episode 4 review
Yakuza Fiancé episode 4 shifted its focus away from the overall growth of Yoshino and Kirishima's relationship dynamic. It concentrated solely on Kirishima's feelings while simultaneously exploring his self-centered and violence-oriented nature, highlighted by his demeanor toward Shouma.
While the pacing of episode 4 remained consistent, adapting exactly three chapters, parts of chapter 10 and several integral panels featuring Yoshino and Kirishima from chapter 11 were skipped.
The animation, which had stayed consistent throughout previous episodes, saw a slight drop in quality, especially in scenes involving Shouma and Yoshino, where the characters often looked noticeably different from their manga counterparts.
Although the animation quality dipped, it was not as severe as might be expected from Studio Deen, particularly given their past reputation after the adaptation of Seven Deadly Sins.
The voice acting remained consistent, but the overall sound design and themes were unremarkable.
Final thoughts
Yakuza Fiancé episode 5 will be released on November 4, 2024, and will be available for international streaming as part of Crunchyroll's Fall 2024 lineup. Episode 4 adapted chapters 9, 10, and 11, so fans wanting to simply continue the story can start reading from chapter 12.
