Hirofumi Yoshida is a Public Safety Devil Hunter who is responsible for protecting Denji. He is also referred to as a high-class bodyguard specialist by Makima. This article will delve into Yoshida's appearance, personality, abilities, and role in various arcs of the Chainsaw Man manga.

Appearance

Yoshida has a slim face, mid-length smooth black hair, and dark eyes. A beauty mark can be seen under his lips. Yoshida has eight piercings on his left ear, although only six are visible under his hair. He usually wears a casual outfit, consisting of an unbuttoned light jacket and dark pants.

Personality

Yoshida is playful and mischievous, as he loves to engage in small talk with his opponents during battle. Despite his friendly disposition, he is also ruthless, as demonstrated when he kills the middle brother of the three Immortal Brothers in a back alley. Yoshida is a high school student, as revealed in his interactions with Kishibe. He takes his job seriously, warning Denji that he will interfere and take action if he attempts to reveal his identity as Chainsaw Man.

Yoshida also has a disdain for death and asked if it was possible for Chainsaw Man to consume the Death Devil for the greater good of society. Whether this is a personal desire or a goal of the organization he is part of, is currently unknown. He also mocked the devil that trapped him with his fellow members of the devil hunter club, stating that thanks to its existence, he now appreciates life more.

Plot

Yoshida first appears in the International Assassins arc, where he is hired by Makima to protect Denji from other countries' assassins trying to take his heart. Yoshida becomes a member of Asa Mitaka's Devil Hunter club when he rejects Yoru's advances. Yoshida meets Denji at school and convinces him not to publicly reveal his identity as Chainsaw Man.

In the Justice Devil arc, Yoshida finds students paying Denji to sit on him and returns Denji's student ID card after he purposefully left it at the scene of his fight with the Cockroach Devil. To satisfy Denji's desire for a girlfriend, Yoshida introduces him to Asa, which ends up failing.

During the Dating Denji arc, Yoshida appears at the aquarium where Denji and Asa were on a date alongside the Devil Hunter Club. He tells Denji that the only way to fix their current situation is to do something. Yoshida theorizes that the power of the Eternity Devil has caused time to stop in the outside world, making any attempts to call for help useless. He is okay with dying and asks Denji if Chainsaw Man could consume the Death Devil for the greater good of society.

Abilities

Yoshida is a skilled fighter and a devil hunter. He has a contract with the Octopus Devil, which grants him the ability to control tentacles. He can also use his tentacles to grab objects from afar, as seen when he recovers Denji's student ID card.

Skillset

Yoshida is an excellent bodyguard and is considered a high-class bodyguard specialist by Makima. He is ruthless and does not hesitate to kill when necessary.
