Many Dragon Ball characters and forms have become fan favorites, including Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta. Gogeta's overwhelming and incredibly confident demeanor keeps him relevant in the fandom, even though his last appearance was on the GT series.

Many fans have discovered that most of SSJ4 Gogeta's intensity, along with his overconfident and brash personality that has become a favorite among fans, comes from the series' fighting games. While the GT series did mark SSJ4 Gogeta's debut, the show fell short of portraying the character in all of its raw elements.

The GT series portrayal made SSJ4 Gogeta's supposedly strong attacks look powerless and lackluster. Few fans credited most of SSJ4 Gogeta's popularity to the games instead of the actual anime. Contrary to expectations, almost every fan agreed and stated that this assumption was correct, and that did not diminish the fandom's love for SSJ4 Gogeta.

Dragon Ball: SSJ4 Gogeta in games and anime are completely different

Although SSJ4 Gogeta made his debut in the GT series, it was in the fighting games that he truly shined. In these games, his character is amplified to a new level of intensity, giving him a confident and fearsome reputation similar to Yujiro from Baki or Gojo from Jujutsu Kaisen.

While few fans have delved deeply into his anime appearances, the consensus is that the games have significantly contributed to his popularity. Many fans are of the opinion that SSJ4 Gogeta's dependency on the Dragon Ball games is not a letdown, as these games have elevated the popularity of almost every character in them.

How fans reacted to the claim

Few fans came forward to mention how the games have always been some of the best-selling and most popular ever released. Although the canon status of these games is still up for debate, they propelled the popularity of characters like Gogeta and Vegito to new levels.

The fact that SSJ4 Gogeta's popularity stems primarily from the games cannot be viewed negatively because the games are a large and important part of the Dragon Ball fandom. Few fans mentioned how the SSJ4 form itself is a really good and fan favorite form, and the games only elevate its greatness.

"Correct, he's carried by ss4 bein a dope look and the games giving unlimited sauce," one fan said.

One fan also mentioned how reality is quite the opposite. As per the X user, anime and other media haven't been able to properly adapt and do justice to Gogeta's overall persona and power level, making the games the only medium that has adapted the character properly.

"Yeah the games do him justice," another fan wrote.
"Gotta say, Gogeta is my favorite model in the game so far," a fan wrote.
"95% of SSJ4 Gogeta's aura comes from games and that's okay," a netizen wrote.

Another fan took the opportunity to mention how almost every single plot point and character associated with GT owes its respectable reputation to the games since the anime itself was quite disliked by fans.

"Everything in GT owes its sauce to the games," one fan wrote.
"Super Saiyan Gogeta from the Dragon Ball Super Broly movie and SSJ4 Gogeta from Dragon Ball GT are SO COOL man," a fan wrote.

There has been no new Dragon Ball media in recent years since the Tournament of Power. However, it is very possible that the upcoming Daima anime and the fighting game DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO will meet the high expectations that fans have.
