Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 265 set up the final battle between Yuji Itadori and Ryomen Sukuna and there are still a lot of questions regarding the former's Domain Expansion. Chapter 264 of the manga had the protagonist using his Domain for the first time and the next one showed him and Sukuna talking as they walked past Yuji's memories, which could be the result of a Binding Vow, according a to new theory.
Indeed, some Jujutsu Kaisen fans have theorized that the conversation between Sukuna and Yuji could be a conversation they had right before dying and that the latter's Domain was executed because the King of Curses triggered a Binding Vow. This would make sense since the setting of chapter 265 has been a running theme across several characters' deaths, thus suggesting that these two men are going to die together after this battle.

Jujutsu Kaisen could explain Yuji's Domain Expansion through a Binding Vow
This theory suggests the idea that the conversation between Sukuna and Yuji in chapter 265 is something that happens right before they die. That is a running theme throughout the story since the likes of Hajime Kashimo, Satoru Gojo, Choso, and a few more had a moment of a final conversation or reflection before dying, which means that this is something that could be happening with these two individuals.
It has been also theorized that Yuji's Domain Expansion could have been triggered by a Binding Vow he made to kill Sukuna, which could have been conditioned by some event that needed to take place. That perhaps could have been connected to the King of Curses recovering his Cursed Technique or Reverse Cursed Technique, which is something that happened in chapter 264.
That could explain why Yuji decided to use his Domain Expansion at that particular moment and not before since he needed to meet certain conditions. This situation is something that would explain the protagonist's decision to die to save everyone, as he always wanted, and also the conversation he shared with the villain in chapter 265.
What could happen in the coming chapters? (speculative)
It is worth pointing out that the aforementioned theory is something that has been speculated by the Jujutsu Kaisen fandom and there is no certainty of what is going to happen next. Yuji's Domain Expansion has never been fully explained and that is going to play a pivotal role in the final battle, especially considering the narrative importance of the protagonist learning this ability.
The next few chapters are very likely to focus on the battle between these two characters, especially considering the buildup made by chapter 265. However, it is also worth pointing out that there is still the subplot of the fight between Kinji Hakari and Uraume, although this conflict has become a running meme in the community because of how author Gege Akutami has ignored it.
Final thoughts
Yuji's Domain Expansion in Jujutsu Kaisen could have been triggered because of a Binding Vow he made to defeat Ryomen Sukuna. However, this is mere fan speculation and needs to be taken into account when it comes to the nature of the protagonist's Domain.
