Although Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 264 is set to be released on July 29, 2024, its spoilers have already been unveiled, and Itadori Yuji's domain expansion has finally become a reality. In his battle against Ryomen Sukuna, Yuji awakened his domain expansion, which looked something like a train station.

Moreover, the fandom also pointed out a similarity between the protagonist's domain expansion and the first opening song of the series' anime adaptation. Most fans consider this a coincidence, but they might need to reconsider, as the author was directly involved in the first season's production. So, Itadori sitting inside a train in the opening song could be his direct request.

Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 264 spoilers commenced with Ryomen Sukuna evading Hana Kurusu's attack and going for the kill. Fortunately, Aoi saved her right in time, and Itadori Yuji joined the fight.

The sorcerer smashed the King of Curses into a building and tried his best to injure the antagonist. However, Sukuna had regained his reverse-cursed technique (RCT) after two consecutive Black Flash techniques, so hitting him didn't do much damage.

On the other hand, the King of Curses again started underestimating Yuji because he speculated that his dismantle could only hit the soul barrier of a body, not the physical body.

To the antagonist's surprise, Itadori made a domain expansion hand seal, the same as Sukuna's, and expanded his domain. The next moment, the antagonist found himself in the middle of a train station as the protagonist approached him for a battle inside his domain.

Although not much was shown about Yuji's domain expansion, it was revealed that it is in a train station setting, just like how Ryomen Sukuna's Malevolent Shrine is inside a shrine. The interesting thing about Yuji's domain expansion is that it could have already been foreshadowed in season 1 of the anime adaptation.

Jujutsu Kaisen season 1 started airing on October 2, 2020, and its first opening song was titled Kaikaikitan, performed by Eve. The opening song video took place in a train station setting where the protagonist was sitting inside a train that was submerged in water. In his reflection, Itadori saw Ryomen Sukuna because he was already the host of the ancient sorcerer.

Like the opening song, Yuji's actual domain expansion also took place inside a train station, as revealed by Jujutsu Kaisen's chapter 264 spoilers. So, the anime's first season could have already foreshadowed his domain expansion.

Gege Akutami's involvement in the anime

During an interview at an Animedia event, one of the producers of Toho Animation revealed that despite the manga series' hectic schedule, Gege Akutami was involved in the anime project.

The author wrote the storyboard for the anime and offered his services to make the anime adaptation of his magnum opus as better as possible. So, the train scene in the opening song could be a request from the author to foreshadow the future event where Itadori revealed his domain expansion.
