Yuji's Domain Expansion proves his true potential as the Jujutsu Kaisen MC

Yuji's Domain Expansion was the focal point of Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 265, which was recently leaked, and that is a key aspect of the main character's potential as a sorcerer. That is because his Domain is capable of altering his surroundings to his will, although he also stated during his conversation with Ryomen Sukuna that he crafted this hastily.

There have been examples of development in Jujutsu Kaisen such as Megumi Fushiguro and Satoru Gojo, but Yuji's Domain is an anomaly even when compared to those cases. That is because of the nature of this ability and the way it works, although is worth taking into account that this Domain has not been fully explored and future chapters are likely to explain it further.

It is worth pointing out that Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 265 was focused mainly on the conversation between Sukuna and Yuji Itadori, which took place in the latter's Domain. This means that this ability is different from most in the series and shows a bit more of Yuji's potential, which was also further developed in this final arc as he mastered Blood Manipulation, Shrine, and Reverse Cursed Technique.

It is also worth pointing out that Satoru Gojo's development of his abilities during the Hidden Inventory flashback and Megumi Fushiguro's unfinished Domain Expansion are different from Yuji's case. This shows that he is an anomaly in the Jujutsu world, which makes sense when considering how he is half Cursed Womb and was an experiment birthed by Kenjaku, only showing the degree of potential that he has.

Yuji's Domain Expansion has also not been fully explored in the recent chapter, which is something that could allow author Gege Akutami to explore the character's potential even further. As of writing, fans don't have a clear idea of how his Domain works and the nature of the ability since Yuji said he only made it hastily, although it seems he can manipulate it at will, which means that he can become even better as a sorcerer.

What could happen in the coming chapters

It is almost certain that the coming Jujutsu Kaisen chapters are going to explain more details about Yuji's Domain and its mechanics. Gege Akutami also has to provide an explanation of why his Domain Expansion had to be used now and not at other points of the battle, especially considering that the protagonist hinted in chapter 265 that he can kill Ryomen Sukuna.

The next few chapters are also likely to focus on the battle between Sukuna and Yuji, which seems to be the final confrontation in the series. However, Akutami also has to provide a conclusion for the battle between Kinji Hakari and Uraume, although the fact it hasn't been addressed for months in the manga has become a running meme in the fandom.

Final thoughts

Yuji's Domain makes him one of the characters with the most potential in Jujutsu Kaisen because it seems that it can manipulate reality and complement the many abilities he has learned thus far. However, readers still don't have a full explanation of the mechanics of this Domain and its range.
