Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 268 concluded the fight between Sukuna and Yuji with Sukuna's defeat after being scraped off Megumi's body. While Sukuna's death has been confirmed via the death and resignation of his trusted partner Uraume, Yuta's actual status has managed to remain a mystery.
Yuta was last seen in chapter 263, where he collapsed after having exhausted his cursed technique along with Kenjaku's curse, which he was using to maintain possession of Sukuna.
Chapter 268 made it clear that Yuta had somehow still survived after the supposed end of Kenjaku's technique; his survival has now been established to be dependent on the remaining sorcerers' efforts. It has already been mentioned that Yuta is related to Gojo; it is possible that their similarities due to being distant relatives play into Yuta's survival in chapter 269.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Yuta's lineage will be the key to saving his life
Yuta and Gojo's peculiar connection was one of the key aspects of Yuta's character, revealed during the events of Jujutsu Kaisen Zero. It was used to explain Yuta's abnormally high cursed energy reserves, as well as his affinity for cursed techniques.
The theme of physical attributes working with the soul residing in a body and even overpowering it was first explored in the Shibuya Incident arc, where Toji managed to reincarnate himself. This has already established that the "body" itself has a consciousness or will tied to it that tries to heal the soul.
Kenjaku himself has also mentioned how the body and soul are the same entity. Given that Kenjaku is the most experienced body-hopper in the series, his conclusion regarding bodies and souls may be tied to his findings about body-hopping.
Yuta has mentioned how there must have been some trick needed for the perpetual activation of Kenjaku's technique for seemingly permanent possession. It is possible that Gojo's body has recognized Yuta's brain and soul as its own and merged them, which might be the current complication surrounding Yuta in the story.
Saving Yuta might require severing his connection with Gojo's body and transplanting him back into his own body while being continuously healed by other sorcerers and Arata Nitta using his technique to stabilize Yuta's soul.
Yuji already has access to the shrine, and Megumi's body has been the most experienced in using the shrine due to Sukuna's possession. Both of them might use their abilities to weaken the merged state of Yuta's soul with Gojo's body, scrape away his soul, and place it back into Yuta's hollow body.
Almost all the remaining sorcerers have gathered in chapter 268 to "help Yuta," and it is possible that restoring Yuta might be the biggest and most delicate operation in the story so far.
