Jujutsu Kaisen has yet to show a lot of what happened to sorcerers in other eras and Yuta's heritage could be an interesting way to display that, especially considering how it could connect him to someone like Kenjaku. This is a fan theory that has been floating online for a while, and some similarities could add validity to this.

Kenjaku and Yuta have shared some similarities throughout Jujutsu Kaisen, which can make some readers remember the connection between Yuji Itadori and Ryomen Sukuna, who were later revealed to be related. Considering that Yuta is related to Satoru Gojo since they share an ancestor, Sugawara, it wouldn't be hard to imagine that other powerful sorcerers are connected to the former.

Therefore, while this is mere fan speculation at the moment, there is a certain logic as to why these two characters could be related, especially considering Kenjaku's deeds throughout the centuries as he has switched bodies time and time again.

Explaining how Kenjaku and Yuta could be related in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga

One of the major reasons a lot of people assume Yuta and Kenjaku are related is because they both have similar abilities in terms of getting other people's Cursed Techniques. The ability to store up Cursed Techniques from others is something only they can do in the story, at least without being biological rarities such as Yuji Itadori.

It was already hinted in recent chapters that Yuta could be related to the two most powerful clans, Fujiwara and Sugawara, which were the strongest of the Heian era. In that regard, Kenjaku already knew who Sukuna was, so it wouldn't be far-fetched to think he was part of one of those clans since his real name has not been revealed yet.

Kenjaku has been dismissive of Yuta, much like Sukuna was of Yuji, with the last two later revealed to be related. They also share being the second strongest of their respective eras and would also make sense that Kenjaku, who has been taking over bodies for centuries, would want to take over the body of someone of one of the most powerful clans.

What this could mean for the story

The main issue with this story moving forward in Jujutsu Kaisen is the fact that Yuta killed Kenjaku, so with the latter no longer involved in the manga, it would make very little difference. While it would be interesting to discover more about Kenjaku and his deeds throughout the centuries, the truth of the matter is that he has been killed off, so it wouldn't push the story forward.

However, the other side of the argument is that this could be a way for author Gege Akutami to add new elements and even plot points, as he did with the revelation of Yuji being related to Sukuna. As it happens in every single work of fiction, it is up to the author to decide, but, as of this writing, it doesn't seem likely that this theory is going to be true.

Final thoughts

There is a chance that Yuta could be related to Kenjaku but that doesn't seem likely at the moment in Jujutsu Kaisen. This is mainly due to how Kenjaku was already taken out, by Yuta of all people, so this plot point wouldn't seem very logical or necessary moving forward.
