Jujutsu Kaisen has truly entered the last phase with the return of Gojo Satoru as Yuta Okkotsu, and Sukuna in the most weakened state he has ever been. With the Shinjuku Showdown entering its final phase, who would emerge victorious?

Before giving such a climactic conclusion, we first need to consider the roles of every fighter standing on the battlefield after what happened in the latest Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 262. The chapter ended with Sukuna and Gojo (Yuta) fighting in their domains as Rika's full body fully manifested. But where would the fight progress?

Sukuna could eventually get hit with Infinite Void, thus forcing the King of Curses to activate the Great Merger. This could be where Yuta's opponent would change as he could battle the Great Merger cursed spirit, instead of Sukuna, and die while fighting it. So, his fate is sealed because of the Great Merger cursed spirit, not because of the King of Curses.

Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 262 commenced with round 2 of the battle of the strongest as Gojo (Yuta) and Sukuna expanded their domains, Infinite Void and Malevolent Shrine. Yuta countered Sukuna's domain by producing a little Infinite Void, a method that the Honored One discovered while fighting the Disgraced One.

To distract Sukuna, Yuta tried using the Imaginary Technique, Purple, but Sukuna predicted it and countered. On the other hand, Rika fully manifested and mourned the death of his beloved's real body.

As the miniature Infinite Void worked against Sukuna during the first round of the battle of the strongest, there are chances that it could work again. Yuta has to be careful about Sukuna's cleverness and that could happen, thus resulting in the King of Curses getting hit by Infinite Void.

Most fans would think that it would be the end of the final fight, but there is a trump card under Sukuna's hand which Kenjaku transferred to him before he died, the right to activate the Great Merger between humanity and Tengen. So, to no one's surprise, fearing his death, Sukuna could activate the Great Merger after getting hit by Infinite Void.

This would merge all humanity with Sukuna, as the King of Curses ate Tengen (confirmed by chapter 248), thus giving rise to a giant cursed spirit how Kenjaku planned. But there would be two people who could be left on the battlefield.

Yuji's mother was Kaori (Kenjaku, a cursed spirit) and his father was a normal human, so calling Yuji a human would be wrong, which would save him from the merger. Moreover, Yuta's real body is dead and he is inhabiting the body of a dead person, so he is also exempted from the merger. The battlefield would divide into two fights: Sukuna vs Itadori and Yuta vs the Merger cursed spirit.

The battle between Sukuna and Yuji would be more of a spiritual one, similar to the battle of the vestiges in My Hero Academia, as Sukuna would not be an individual cursed spirit after the merger. So, Itadori would battle against the King of Curses inside the latter's domain within the Great Merger.

On the other hand, Yuta would battle against the Merger and could pull his last trump card during this battle. When Rika ate Kenjaku's head, she not only copied Kenjaku's cursed technique but also copied Geto's cursed technique, cursed spirit manipulation. So, using the cursed spirit manipulation, Yuta would absorb the Great Merger Spirit.

After absorbing it, Yuta would use the reverse cursed technique in a way that hasn't been used yet. So far, the use of RCT is to heal others or yourself, but it can be used in other ways which is indicated by its name (reversing a cursed technique).

So, Yuta could reverse the Great Merger spirit into individual spirits (a technique reverse of Maximum Uzumaki) and send all of them back to their bodies. As Sukuna has no body and was using Megumi's body as a vessel, this could also mark his demise.

After finishing everything, Yuta could finally die as keeping him alive inside Gojo's body would potentially be bad writing from the author .
