Zenshu episode 1 will be released on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at 11:45 PM JST. The series will air on Japanese TV channels like TV Tokyo and will be streamed internationally on Crunchyroll. The anime is the latest anime-original series by the animation studio MAPPA.

Zenshu is an original anime (without any source material) created and directed by Mitsue Yamazaki. The series was announced in May 2024, and fans have been eyeing the anime, given the already 'notorious' nature of its animation studio, which relates to Zenshu's plotline.

Zenshu episode 1 is also just around the corner. However, the first episode has yet to release its preview images/trailer. So, based on the trailers, let's see what the series might be packing.

For the Japanese audience, Zenshu episode 1 will be aired on local TV channels like TV Tokyo, BS TV Tokyo, AT-X, and other TX channels. Zenshu episode 1 will air according to its local timing on each channel. Moreover, the sequel series will also be present on Japanese streaming sites like Amazon Prime Video, ABEMA Premium, d Anime Store, and many others.

For international fans, the episode will be aired on one of the most trusted anime streaming websites, Crunchyroll. The episode will also be available on other local streaming websites for some specific countries.

Zenshu plot summary

The anime is a fantasy series centered around the talented Natsuko Hirose. After graduating from high school, she pursued a career as an animator due to her passion. Therefore, she entered the anime industry and progressively increased her skills to the point that she became a director in no time. Soon, she also received her first anime, and, as expected, it was a hit amongst the fans.

Her first anime was a hit titled Natsuko. As the 'up-and-coming genius director,' the pressure was up for the female protagonist to live up to everyone's expectations. So, she decided to give her all to the next project which was a romantic-comedy movie. Sadly, as Natsuko had never experienced love, she couldn't think of anything regarding her latest animation project.

With the storyboards and animations on a standstill, Natsuko was never happy with anything her fellow animators did. So, she took the burden of everything on herself as she considered this the fastest way to complete the project. Soon enough, she faced the consequences of her actions and collapsed in her studio.

After a few minutes, she woke up in a familiar fantasy world. Before long, she was attacked by a few people but saved by a prince. This reminded Natsuko that she was transported into the world of 'A Tale of Perishing,' an animation film that awoke the passion for 'animation' inside the female protagonist.

Zenshu episode 1: What to expect (Speculative)

Zenshu episode 1 is yet to release any update from the series' production team. However, given the series' plotline, the first episode might introduce Natsuko Hirose and show the origins of why the female protagonist developed an interest in animation.

Moreover, the episode might also showcase her breaking point, where she would take every job to herself and eventually collapse. The episode might end with her getting transported into another world.
